MicroSoft Live Websites are thet reliable?

I've had two microsoft live websites since February - both free during beta. They started charging me from 23rd May and today (27th May) both are down. (I can't find who to contact either). Their website states there are no issues with service.

Does anyone have experience of Microsoft websites? Should I learn to expect this?

Microsoft Live Websites? You can have your own website hosted with Windows Live?

Contact your credit card company, and they should be able to help you out.

If they can't provide you the phone #, then file a chargeback.

And to GoogleGuru, they offered free hosting a while back as a promotion.

I'm still using MSN to make sure because some people don't know live yet.

Thanks but I'd still like to ascertain how reliable microsoft servers are.

I think both sites were down for 8 hours. I've now had emails from microsoft saying there was unscheduled engineering carried out. Is 8 hours down time typical for other servers? Which are the most reliable?

8 hours downtime? That's ridiculous, I could format and rebuild a server in under 2 =/

Thanks, it is difficult to know. If servers are down shouldn't they announce it somewhere? For 8 hours people going to my site would have got "error - site not found" - what chance have I that they'll come back? Do servers compensate for down time?

    Sensible advice :).

I was wondering if by having a site with 'em, will it help in rankings on MSN ?
