Well the simple answer is YES! I've tried out the techniques described by Travis Sago and I've been getting good results. I'm sure many of you have already heard of the Bum Marketing Method but if not here is a quick explanation. It involves writing an article related to your niche and then submitting it to one or two of the main article sites. Travis explains how you can get your article high in the search engines. It involves chosing a title that hasn't got much competition but gets searched quite a lot. Anyway what I wanted to say is, I tested this method and submitted a single article to just two sites. I did that 3 weeks ago. Now if you type the title of my article into google it is number 1 out of 16,200,000. But this gets even better. If I remove one word from the search it is still the first result but this time out of 38,000,000. This is the first article I have written and look at the results and it is bringing me traffic due to the link in my authors bio. If you can write articles on a regular basis then you will gradually be increasing traffic to your website. You can find out more about the Bum Marketing Method by searching in google. Just as a final note, I highly recommend this method!!
It was called Bum Marketing because it is so easy to use that any bum off the street could do it. Sorry I should have explained that bit.
I recommend 'bum marketing' as well. I don't have any money to spend on advertising my site, so I use articles to rank for keyword that my main site simply can't rank for. It's worked quite well and definitely brings in traffic.

It works, however USfreeads, (one of the site Travis recommends) lost his effectiveness. Plus, never forget to build your own business and build your list of subscribers.
On the original site Travis has recommended three sites to use which are goarticles, ezinearticles and usfreeads. I would like to add another to the list which I have found to be very effective at reaching high in google. I think that you should let the CapsLock down. Actually, article marketing is an old and proven way of marketing, but it doesn't give fantastic results. Yes, it helps, but not as much as two years ago.
Why do you think that this is not as good as it was 2 years back. Have you noticed certain changes or trend changes etc...
Stevie, I'd like to hear what term it is you rank for out of 38 million on idea marketer. I don't believe you. However, I'd love to be proven wrong, it would make me believe in Bum Marketing a lot more. (I'm trying some Bum Marketing myself) So what's the term you rank for? -Brad
If i were stevie i wouldnt give away the term on here for obvious reasons. Its easily possible to get good results from articles, iv always done it. If you dont believe him, who cares. You should try it.
It works also due to domain trust, if the site you are sending your articles to have a good domain trust, then he will rank better for those terms that you would rank for the same article on your website, it's obvious. That is why it is worth to send articles to articles directories. You get a piece of the pie by getting traffic from these sites.
