How to evaluate the sale price of a directory

I'm considering selling optimumrank pr4 and pectom pr3 as I've overstretched my resources and want to concentrate on the others, but I've no clue how to value them. Traffic is 400+ uniques this month for both and income is negligible. I realise it depends where the directories are sold, but I'm not really intersted in advertising them on eBay or sitepoint, I'd rather find a good home for them here.

I'm not sure how you would decide the value of these myslf. I like pectom and would be interested in see what you decide about it.

Good luck...hope it all works out for you.

I've had one person interested in OptimumRank but he won't make an offer, wants a price. I'll pm a couple of people who may be interested now. I'd appreciate if anybody can give me a guideline price for these directories.

If I was buying I would ask "Are you going to transfer the deeplink mod with pectom or transfer it to another domain" then take that into consideration when buying or selling.

I guess you could use your monthly income minus expenses as a base; many sites sell for approximately 10 -12X monthly revenue.

Not many are willing to pay for potential as it's subjective. It's difficult for another party to make an offer without knowing income/expenses and many times such an offer might be extremely low and may seem insulting to the site owner. Might be a reason why the interested party has decline to make you an offer.

Maybe establishing your bottom price as a reserve and holding an auction would give you an idea of what you might expect to receive; if your reserve is not met, there's no obligation on your part to complete the sale. It might exceed your expectations, never know.

Best of luck with selling the directories.

think it is generally a factor between 7-12mths mthly profit.... what that factor is depends on the outlook of your directory, the amount of marketing that has been done, the quality of it (whether alot of changes need to be made) and a few other points.....
