Dialup for 4200 Pakistani Rupees? Thats insane..

You should get Cyber net hispeed dialup package which is just 600 Rs/month (unlimited).

I am using dial-up but my phone service wires are so old that my fastest speed is 26 KBPS and that is a good day. I guess that's the price of rural living. What sucks is DSL and cable is available with in 3 miles in either direction but they won't come the rest of the way.

I also connected 3 desktops and 2 laptops to my dsl. They all run pretty fast. We only have one printer (cuts down on cartridges).

Anyways, I still think that $70 is way too much for a dialup connection. Why don't you try some cable net whose backbone is broadband connection? I'm using one which uses Multinet Broadband connection and I get around 100 kb/sec while downloading a file (200+ in off-peak hours). It cost me less than 20 bucks monthly.

Well its India bud!! Internet/telecomm is damn expensive here..

    256 KBPS is about 1000 Rs( 25 USD)/month

I had 1.3 MBPS connection earlier.. but after my episode with MTNL over quality they upgraded it to 2MBPS without additional fee ( but it still sucks)
