If rather than combing tons of sites and get carpal tunnel while I fill up my competitive ad filter, I could simply tell Google the minimum amount of money I'm willing to be paid on a click. That's it. Pretty simple. Because I'd rather be paid $0 than give out 200 (or whatever) clicks daily @ 3-5 cent averages in a competitive niche. I just went through what I consider 8 problem sites (low cash per click rates) and while I don't know exactly who is paying next to nothing, I did find about 15 sites (so far) that were nothing more than BS redirects on click. I go through this over and over and over and over and over and over. I know my request isn't that complicated. I'd even settle with an account-wide minimum per click for starters. But, maybe it's just me.
Let me get this straight You are complaining about the low amount that you are earning from these 1-cent wonder sites, but you'd rather take ZERO than work on a filter? Non sequiter Myself, I'd rather take zero than have a bunch of MFAA sites trashing up my user experience so I make 1 or 2 cents a click.
so really what your saying is google should change adwords to a minimum click cost of 5c, so google can get at LEAST 4c per click and continue to give you 1c/click? Or are you saying you only want ads worth $X/click? If you could do that, it would make adsense/adwords the single most expensive CPC network site in the world, and people who cheat the system would be extremly wealthy(arbirage(spelling?)). Pierce
I think what he's saying is he would like somewhere in his adsense cp the ability to put "I want .50 per click minimum" else don't show any ads. I personally like the idea...
Don't adbrite work like that? It would work but I'm not sure how well. It could be you set it and if there's no ads you get shown PSA's in which case you have to lower it. Or google should say give you a a week and then the average click cost for that week would be your lowest you would accept. You would be able to start a new week whenever.
For me it's more the principle of user-experience than that of amount per click, though, like every one, I'd like a bit more per click The low point cut off, I feel, is like putting a band-aid on a sucking chest wound, I'd prefer to fix the root of the problem which is all these crap sites. IF (and we'll have to wait and see...I won't believe its going to happen until I see it happening) Google does some serious pruning on 01 June, then that may start to solve some of the problem. Let's get the internet content back to what it was ten years ago before all this pollution took over in the name of a quick buck.
I didn't think it was that complicated. Yes, I want to be able to tell Google that I won't take less than X per click. I think this has a two-fold benefit. First, I don't get waste clicks for what I consider to be spare change. Second, I'm likely to increase my visitor's experience, because garbage sites usually don't bid too much. And yeah, no one is forcing any of us to use AdSense. I just think it would be a nice idea to make the system friendlier. But, there's a ton of people who are happy to even get 1-3 cents for a click, so I guess we march on. I guess if I had a bunch of crappy "just come and click out" type of sites, I would be too.
bidclix provides that option, and other such networks, not sure if google will allow that, or all publishers will look only for ads above $0.50 & $1.00 .
I'd say, so? It's the publisher's site and advertising. If you ran a magazine would you give spots to ad agencies and allow them to give you whatever they felt like for them? No. You'd have limits. And I think the "everyone" comment is a slippery slop. Heck, forget the rest of the world and just look at DP. There are plenty of people using AdSense here who wouldn't do 50 cents or greater, because when the cash dries up, they'd be happy getting a penny. Also, 50 cents is a bit extreme. I know Google will never do this, because it's not in their business model. I was just making a comment and having some fun. Oh well.
