Is someone trying to scam me?

I sold something on Ebay and the buyer sent this email:

I said ok knowing I would not give anything to them without getting the cash, but now I got the Western Union and needless to say I have my doubts that it is real. I mean I have no idea what a Canadian Money Order looks like but I can't seem to find the watermark, and it states location: 00000. I don't have a scanner but, yeah think someone is trying to scam me?

Some buyers do this.. but be VERY careful. Did you check the feedbacks from the buyer? (are they in the thousands?)

With Western Union where can I find the Money Transfer Control Number? Does the sender have to give it to me?

The # for the money order? Yes. Actually... after you recieve the money order, log onto the site and check it's status... once it's gone through, then send the item.

He has given me the following details:

    The agent # AGT 800868
    LOC# is 000000
    DT # is 051807
    Control # 02109043405

However on the WU website the Control has to be 10 Digits, his is 11? Is this normal?

western union is nearly always a scam

im not sure what it is actually any use for.

and how many companies dont use credit cards?

i say it is a scam. saying its against their policy to use paypal is crap

follow up with an email and get more details about the copmpany and then do your own research into them

... it should be 11 digits.. have you tried submitting it to the site? It'll tell you if it went through or not. If not.. it must be a scam .. sounds fishy!

Hmm well on Western Union site it states when I input the 11 Digit number:

"Your Money Transfer Control Number must be exactly 10 characters in length."

You got your answer there  I'm leaning towards a scam... so don't send the item. Ask for an 10 digit #

I presume me you mean ask for a 10 Digit one, being I got a 11 Digit one ;). And I am asking now, I am pretty sure it is a scam and once I am 100% I think I might have a little bit of fun with this scammer for wasting my time.

Make sure everything has cleared first before you send the item.

Well I am not having a good year with the site I am trying to sell. I brought it off a scammer who claimed the code as unique (when it clearly was not) and nearly sold it to a scammer..
