Hey guys I just finished up a client website and hes ready for me to upload it to the server it was a pretty large online store, but should I have him review the website on my server to make sure it meets his needs, and if hes okay with it send him a recipient showing how much money I recieved, and then stating on there basically that client has reviewed website and meets the clients criteria 100 percent, and any additional revisions, or changes client understand that it will be billed at the hourly rate. Should I do something like that before releasing the site to him? Just to avoid conflicts?
I'd say yes ... always receive sign-off that delivery meets requirements, in short, that the job is done, prior to releasing as live.
Shouldn't you have had this already in the initial contract? You should always have a "testing and acceptance" section in the contract.
very true, I'm going to just go ahead, and upload it to his server, next time I'll be sure to do this.
I don't have that sort of stuff signed (we're not that legalistic here), but I do usually show the website to a client on another server before it's put live on their site. But why don't you just ask your customer what they want? Ask it in an e-mail so you have the answer in e-mail as well.
