Hello everyone! In running an affiliate site how important is blogging? Is it that necessary? Or can a site go without it?
There are just so many factors. yes a blog always helps. If you have an older site with ok pr say pr 4 or above it may do just as well as a blog. A blog is a post a day if you have a site a page a day... that is where I make the comparison.
a blog on your site is just an easy way to add more content to your site. New content and in abundance is good. This is why people usually reccomend adding a blog to your site. Plus, most blog scripts are optimized well for the SEs - just another reason to use blogs. This is not to say that you cant achieve similar results using more traditional methods of adding content to your site - it just might require more work on your part.
Whats the best techniques you guys have used to raise page rank, and do you think buying a lot of pr4-5 featured links from high quality directories do it? whats methods you guys have used for raising page rank? anwar khan auctions
yes you can gain traffic through it, but is only one of the many factors to consider. The best thing on it is the one way link
Hi affearner, Actually it up to you, I agree blogging really help much on your site, only when you update your blog content regularly. And another problem in blogging is to find and publish content, if you have one or two site it still fine. Blogging not necessary but optional, your site still can go without blogging. This is just my opinion. Cheers
Blogs are more subjective interpretation rather than statistics about it. blogging can work if you reflect upon your work through your posts.
It can be instrumental in promoting your site and upselling products and also increasing your search engine traffic. - More content on your site on a regular basis. More pages = more chance of SE traffic = more sales - If your content is interesting then you can build up a loyal reader base to upsell products too = more sales - Webmasters in a similar niche may subscribe to your blog and when they see something interesting they may link to your site. Blogs tend to encourage people to link to you a lot more than a static site. This is because people love to seomthing NEW and FRESH. If you have webmasters following your blog and they suddenly see a new really interesting post, chances are they will link to it, even if they were not specifically looking for something to talk about on their site and was just reading your blog for pleasure. A Note about building backlinks Lots of people say that a blog will build backlinks for your site. That is only if you start your blog on a seperate domain, and I don't see absolutely any point in doing that. If you keep your blog on your main site it you'll have the power of both your blog and main site combined, which is a lot more than if they were seperate. Any inbound link to your domain (no matter where it links to) will help raise rankings both your blog and main site since it is all part of that one domain.
Blog is very important in generating traffic to your site. It also in a way, spread the word about your site.
From my experience, I started a site based on a custom CMS I built and an other one on WordPress. My CMS was SEO and everything should have been right there. Well, WordPress had more visitors on the same period of time. Ok, the 2 markets were different but I always had the impression that the blog had a quicker integration in the rest of the web.
I have plans for a blog on my affiliate site in the future - sooner rather than later. why? (no order) 1. More unique content 2. More backlinks 3. More web 2.0 / social / discussion = more repeat visitors 4. RSS 5. Drive targeted traffic to my affiliate site Essentially what I plan to do is create a blog that will work with my affiliate site. I'll use the blog to post news my niches would be interested in. Also, I'll write about new articles/content on my affiliate site to drive traffic there. I probably won't make money directly from my blog.
Having a blog on your site will definitely help in the search engine results. Additionally having a site blog updated regularly will help get return visitors.
To reapr: So how often should I post in my blog? Is it OK if I go there once a week? To coolguy 27: Other than backlinks, I think it also affects the site PR. Am I right? To BILZ: But my blog is a separate site. It's not one of the pages of my main web site. But it contains live links that are directed to either the main page or subpages of the main web site. Do you think the same results will happen? To anwar: I'm speaking based on experience -- One of the effective ways in increaing PR is by adding fresh content regularly. Ping this so that all directories will know about this new post and will soon index whatever live link you've added in this new post. Thanks to everyone who went back in her to share their ideas re my query.
ya, they are very beneficial in improving traffic on your site. It is good and effective if you update your blog 2-3 times in a week.
