what do you guys use for your RSS feeds? RSS, in general, is something I never paid any attention to.
RSS feeds are useful for including information related to the topic of your lens that is updated frequently. Let's say that you have a lens on scuba diving. If you also had a blog on scuba diving that was regularly updated, then you could use the RSS feed from your blog on your lens. In that way, your lens visitors are constantly getting fresh information. I read your article and that was a great tip. I guess the first step to a useful lens is that it is supposed to be useful in the first place.
I have my RSS feed to my blog on my lenses, so whenever I update my blog I am updating my lenses. I don't pay attention to lens rank too much. As long as it shows up on the front page of Google for a highly competitive keyword that my main site won't rank for in a long time, I'm not complaining.
Yes, a good idea is always a good idea I have been noticing though that some people overlook the small stuff when publishing their lens. An attention to detail makes the world of difference. Check out this link: Tips for Squidoo Lensmasters - Issue 2: Squidoo Basics
