It seems that in online poker you don't need to know how to play, just call anything and hope for the best.

If you take your whole bankroll to one table then you are a fool.

I'd say normally yup, I agree, but at that point I was frustrated with wankers calling with a 2-7 and outdrawing my high pair that I thought a higher stakes table would have less callers and minimum buy-in was $40.00 so I took my $50.00.

Ouch, if it's true it's sick.
But i don't believe it. I stick to moderately low limits anyway.

You can't imagine whats real poker strategy.
With excellent strategy and good knowledge poker isn't gambling. Its money machine, for skilled players.
#topic starter - you had bad luck, its normal.

If you go broke that fast, you play in too high stage with your small bankroll....

For the last month iv been living off online poker. Bat beats happen... Even the best players will eventually lose... Statistically speaking you will eventually get a whole of bad beats in the raw. Over time however good players will always end up winning.

That is very true, short term you may lose, but long term you can win if you play "correctly"

In the long run a good poker player should come out ahead, I think the main issue I have now is that I don't trust online poker and as a result I play more cautiously and do not maximize my winning hands.

I play in 4 to 5 tournaments a month and so far I have finished in the money in well over 1/2 of them and have won twice.

Maybe I'll try lower stakes so I can be more agressive and if the ratio of bad beats contunues I'll just pack it in. Doesn't matter how good of a player you are, if you draw in other players to go all in when you have quads, you played well but when they hit a runner-runner for a straight flush, still makes you think "Hmmmmmmm....."

I turned $300 into $7000 in a few days on PokerStars, I had trouble cashing it out though.
