Frustrated with myself

I heard that it is not that difficult to get few bucks for ring tone site and dating site. I do some research on the keywords and create landing page for them. I use YSM and bid $0.10 - $ 0.20 for each keywords. I have created different landing page for different keywords to have better QS.

Guess what result I have?
First day
Few clicks from YSM - No leads

2nd day
Single click from YSM only(not sure why) - No leads

My QS for YSM ads is fine (4 - 5). Now my problem is I hard to get clicks from YSM. Anyone experience this before? Maybe I am not that suitable for CPA business Any advice is very much appreciated

 

How many impressions are you getting? What positions are your ads showing in?

 

Thousands of impressions on the first day. Only few keywords got position around 20. Most of the keywords are at 30 ++

 

Don't get discouraged over that. May be you need to learn more on how to play the cpa game or a collection of other factors. The key is not to give it up

There's a recent thread where somebody showing a check of 18,000 or so. So it's working if played the right way. Think like a regular user & see where your weak points are.

 

How many total keywords are you targeting if you dont mind me asking?

 

Thanks for you advice. I have to agree with what you said. Is that my bid is too low? 1 dating lead is only $3 - $4, the maximum bid I can set is $0.20.

 

For dating campaign, it is approximately 1k keywords. I found that YSM impressions even worse than yesterday (< 10) but the quality score still remains the same. So weird.

 

I would expand your keyword list and work on that more.

 

your position is way too low, you definitely need to either raise your bids or get keywords with less competition. even though you have a decent quality index the competitors probably have the same or better with higher bids

 

Actually, You don't need to raise your bid, 1st rule don't ask people on DP. I love DP, but its not the best place to ask for affiliate help, wickedfire is better for affiliates. There are of course several members that you can trust. So when you do post here watch for them to answer. Such people are, Myself, Shoemoney, Bluebobbo, JesseCooper (most of the time ), Sup3rnova, and a few more I'm sure I'm leaving out.

Anyways the reason your losing impressions is because of your CTR. Even if you have a 5 out of 5 ad quality score in Yahoo if your ctr is low, they are going to show your ads less and less until well as you said your getting a couple impressions a day and 0 clicks. There are several ways to raise your ctr which you will need browse dp or wickedfire to discover all the ways or I'm sure some people will tell you.

With 1,000 keywords you can easily make a couple hundred a day if you get your ctr up depending on your keywords.

So get your CTR up.

 

You can all rest assured that i'm trustworthy as well. problem is, i have relatively little good advice to share. i wish i did. one thing i do know, at least i think i know, is that you need A LOT of keywords for ringtones.

Both markets are pretty saturated, so its getting harder and harder to make money in these areas too.

 

More keywords, more keywords, more keywords .

 

You must realize you are getting into very competitive markets, ringtones and dating are all over the place, have patience and don't be discouraged.

 

test test test. If you getting that many imp and no clicks either your ad sucks or you are very low in your position or both. also you cant claim result off a few click your need atleast few hundred but 1000's prefered to be a true test study.

 

Yeah for sure, a couple thousand impressions is nothing to bank your hopes on... I've tested keywords that get thousands of impressions and no clicks just because the audience I targetted wasn't interested. Then I have keywords that get a couple thousand impressions and hundreds of clicks.

Most people making any money on ringtones get hundreds of thousands of impressions per day (literally).

So what you should work on first is getting a ton more keywords... Max out your Yahoo account. Make sure you're using bolded ad copy (in Yahoo: {KEYWORD:default text}) anytime you can if it makes sense to.

 

Thanks guys. I am trying to get more long tail keywords and rewrite my ads. Most of my ads looks similar with other advertisers' ads and have lower position. I will try to rewrite all ads and make my ads more outstanding.
