PR is not the only thing I'm trying to archive. Plus I'm a pretty lazy guy and I do my sites slowly, getting a PR6 in such a period sounds pretty good to me. Yip!There are many more important factors other than PR. OFF-TOPIC:I was kinda surprised when I noticed http://www.directorydelux.com/ is a PR3 today...Umm....
Remove those 20 sitewide footer links and you will probably jump to PR 65 on next update with absolutely no additional work. They are a major drain for you right now.
There is nothing to do with sitewide links see here www.indianwebdirectory.info It has more than 50 but it has PR3 even after two updates
Aha,it's not me. Usually there are no more than 10 sitewide's in my sites. Check out this thread, looks like the new owner doesn't know how to maintain a directory.
Sorry for the bad stats above, obviously I meant either PR5 or PR6 but shorthanded the hell out of it. Mr FreeWebSpace you are very lucky that your site is PR3, you could stand to loose a bunch of those footer ads also. Yes PR does bleed away from your page for every link you have. if you have 10 outbound links on a page, the PR that is passed to each link is 1/10 of whatever the PR for this page actually is So with that in mind, here is a quick math lesson for you. PR3 / 50+ links on a page = almost no inner pages with PR at all. In fact, after looking around a bit, the only pages with any PR on your site are in your header PR1, they are site wide links also. and no top level categories have any PR. Why? Because 1 link out of 50+ on a page = 0 PR. Also you have a bit of a problem, click forum then click index and you will see that it is broken (points to .html not / or .php) and that is a further bleed of PR that is going absolutely nowhere, it's just lost in the system. Good luck to you, hope you are selling your footer ads for a bunch of loot as they are ruining your directory
If you define big by profit rather than PR, are there any big directories on DP? It seems most the good directories put back most if not all the directories income back into more link buys and the site itself, which would leave the directories making a small, if any profit at all?
i do agree with this, i have accepted some sitewide links for a few of my sites, and my pr did dropped a bit! it is better not to put homepage sitewide links, the links from the inner pages are not draining too much of Pr, but it effects a lot if the links are on the homepage,
Sorry alang, must be on the rush on the typo. Should be ventedoy and not venteboy. Hmm.. venteboy was a nice name to go too. www.ventedoy.com bid directory for what i see, it has potential in terms of the design and look of the web, in coming near future, i am sure it will be more popular and stand along with others. www.nobledirectory.com in somehow, the owner, i know whom will promote and work the directory up the ladder, hard work and time spend by the owner, this should be admired. www.directorydump.com for most of the directory i've seen and went through, this one is the most informative directory which not just provide directories of website but at the same time it also provide news, and articles. directory.google.com nothing much can be say it here, its the king now and the Big G have it all. Offtopic : Admiring and like other webmaster website by mentioning out, doesn't mean its a trying to .... thing.. i hope some one understand what i meant. Due the above why i chose the 3 directory? 1. some great directorie's owner url are already mentioned more than twice, 2. i am sure they are work-welled directory which will be up and popular in near future. I don't see any reason that this is bad to recommend their directory and the owner.. ..
