How do I go about building a blog ring?

    Hi,

I came across a the blog called BlogCritics.org and I am thinking I can do something similar to this with Links.com - with a focus on all types of entertainment. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can go about linking up with other bloggers who have excellent content and writing abilities and could use links from Links.com to their own sites in exchange for content on links.com? Thanks.

    Rich,

Link exchanges [or call it a blog ring] don't carry as much as weight as they used to do, one way links are the way to go. Bloggers, really should be concentrating on writing unique content that people will link to rather than spending hours joining up link exchanges.

    In my opinion.

Yes, I agree. What I was looking for was not a link exchange, but rather content exchange - something like BlogCritic.org. What I would like to do is have authors with good content on their blogs (right now I am looking for TV, video, music, and game content), post the content on links.com (for visibility), along with a link back to their own blog. I think the BlogCritic forrmula works pretty well, by aggregating good content while giving authors greater visibility, if they need it.

    Thanks for your comment,
    Rich

    Rich,

Would that cause problems with duplicate content?

It sounds a good way to get more readership and traffic, but I'd be worried about what would happen in the search engines.

I would agree with you. For this reason, the blogs on Links.com would have to be unique content. While this creates extra work for all associated bloggers, it does enable them to take advantage of the increased traffic that can be driven to their own primary site. Links.com would, in a sense, become a traffic funnel, for excellent bloggers, who could use the increased visibility.

I believe that this is similar to the BlogCritics model and the Glam.com model. That is, aggregating excellent bloggers. The advantage that I bring with Links.com, is that it is relatively easy for the site to get top SERP ranking (I have been experimenting with various ideas), especially if there is great content to go along with the domain name. I think the idea has merit, if I can aggregate the right set of bloggers. Right now I am concentrating on entertainment-oriented blogs, because this is by far and a way the biggest source of organic visits, but I am not limited to this set.

    Thanks again for your comments.
