Now that one, I thought of earlier. ANd just like advertising on any of my sites, when the purchaser of that link wants to change it, I have no problem and will change. If the purchaser sold the site to someone else, again, unless it is a time period subscription (which the new site owner would have to take over or lose the link) the new owner keeps the link as it is already paid for. I will be doing the same thing on my bid directories. Want to change a link? No problem with my bid directories. Sell the site? New owner keeps the link purchased.
Now take that concept and push it a little further ... I bid $1000 for a link and use it for a year or two. Now I want to sell that link to YOU for $500. You can list any site in the same place (as a $1000 bid), but it does not need to be the same address. By the way this is not a theoretical exercise ... users can edit the URL, title and description on my site at any time. But the changes need to be approved before the listing is shown.
Interesting discussion. What if a bidder sells their "site" and then at a later date switches the bid listing to a different site they own. The new owner of the "site" may loose out and not even know it. Seems like the url should not be able to be altered, especially if directory says permanent. At the very least a policy at the bid directory should be stated upfront.
This thread deserves a bump. I always keep an eye out for strange/unethical behavior and immediately stop bidding on a site if I pick up on it. I will add my own links, but never bid-up or bid against my customers. Lame!
...I can see that.. Excuse the sarcasm. I'm just very disappointed to see what has happened. Be sure that the addon does not get released.
Agreed that the exact same thing as mystiks mod and or design... Rippen is a BIG NO NO here and everywhere.... Trust me when i tell ya your playing with FIRE and you will get burnt! Please REMOVE make sure that that does not happen... thx malcolm
I will have to agree on this one as it does look too much like what mystikmedia has on his 3 bidding sites and if release I wont be using it. I will give you credit for trying, but on this case it does infringes upon a concept that was heavily invested upon by Mystikmedia only to be brought upon a turnkey scripts like the two sites that I have it on. For ethically, maybe best to not release such mod on this case or have a different mods that can better the scripts in a unique and fair play.
as i mentioned in the thread related to this,if you have the talent to do this, you have the talent to do it unique and original...
Yes, make the mod unique and better. And if someone uses the color blue, be sure and do not use blue! (sarcasm there if you follow)
The only thing about this is that its unfair for the new owner of the website when they take in consideration of back links and the value of the backlinks when they make the purchase of the website in question its a bit misleading...
Good rules. There are so many bid directories out there that sooner or later there won't be an incentive to cheat.
