Hi all I am on a "trial period" in making money online. Currently trying adsense as part of the making money plan. I am in beauty and health field. Therefore, I know quite a lot about beauty. I want to write on beauty but unfortunately I am not good at writing. Then I try to find others' articles in free articles directory. Just want to seek advice on how to market my blogs that I build mostly from free articles. Some people said that free articles are the mess, junk, rubbish and bla bla bla. But I found out that not all free articles are rubbish. Some give very useful tips to readers. I try market my blogs in social bookmarking sites such as digg, delicious, listible, simpy....Getting fair result from these sites, but traffic still very low. Only manage to get around 5-6 visitors per day for each blog. Also did exchange links with other sites and blogs. But the result still yet to come. For those who have ideas or those who already success in marketing their "made from free articles" sites, please advice me. Thanks
Hi Redblue, I think it's fairly important that you create unique content as search engines (which I am sure will generate most, if not all of your traffic) do not like duplicate content very much. If you have some cash to spend perhaps look at PPC advertising: Google AdWords for instance. I'd probably build on organic traffic if I were you though as profits are likely to be small on your blog at this stage. You're heading in the right direction with the social bookmarking & link exchanges. Perhaps add the URL to your signature on this forum -and any others you use. Trampola, my tramping/hiking blog has relied completely on organic growth. I added to directories, link-exchanged, wrote loads of unique content and, overall put-in time. RE: Writing Content -Use existing articles as a reference and just put it in your own words. Maybe see about taking a short-course in creative/professional writing. Primarily you'd want to write about your experience, but it doesn't hurt writing subjectively about existing things. Paul
After reading your post, I will have to disagree with you. I think you write pretty good. You are not looking to win any writing contests, you just need to post interesting content for your visitors. Write what you know, write like you are having conversation (don't worry about proper grammar, punctuation, etc), run it through a spell-checker, and post it to your blog. There is absolutely nothing like unique, original content.
Instead of link exchanging... I have done a few methods to bring in some significant traffic such as... Write an article for free realted in your niche and contact blog and site owners in your niche... Give them the article for free, make it really really good or even have someone write it for you. Don't ask for anything back, don't even put your information in it. Just author it... Do this once or twice and build a relationship with the exsisting owners of those sites. After you have given them immesne value, ask them to possibly mention you in the next article you write... or feature one of your articles and bio pages. This will bring in around 200-500 viwers.
Hi Redblue, I have a several websites but am just getting into blogging. I have a weight loss blog and often wonder what I need to do to bring in more traffic (all my content is my own). I do however use alot of articles from free article directories as well as some of my own content for my sites. Since you are in the health and beauty field have you thought about adding product reviews? By the way could you send me a pm with your blog I would love to see it. Judy
My article on Digital Black and White Conversions in Photoshop is my #2 traffic drawing page; my Tutorial on Photoshop Soft Focus for Portraits is another strong attraction. These pages bring in visitors, mostly because they're unique; I wrote them to host on my own site, and haven't distributed them anywhere else. Directory articles have already been promoted, so don't have much shelf life left. They also don't pass the duplicate content filter. Since this is a commercial venture - you're trying to make money - if you won't write the articles yourself, you should pay a good writer to do that for you. Recycled content just doesn't help you very much ... ask yourself why you would go to your site instead of a different one that's been hosting the article for six months already, and is all over Digg, Delicious, on the first page of Google, and so on?
I think that just copying articles from article web-sites will not work... but I think that it is a good idea to read article carefully and find out the answer to the question: "Why reader should read it?" Then, you could give a short, but informative description about this article. In this way, you will provide your visitors with real value, I'm sure people will like to link back to you, if you will focus on some interesting niche.
Yap, your idea seems pretty good but there is one problem if you ask me. Big sites have their own specialized writers and i don't think would let anyone post there. And smaller sites, that might allow you to post your article, would not generate enough traffic to your site to worth the work. Am i wrong?
submit to directories and hope to get listed, should give you some help with rankings from search engines. link exchange with other splogs or do some kind of post exchange as said above. you may not get traffic from articles on splogs but you should get a bit more link juice for search engines RSS directory/search engine submission helps alot with normal blogs so i guess would be the same for splogs (some even have categories for them)
Tq so much to paul and fmt2k7. I'll put an extra effort to write my own article based on tips that you're giving here. After read your post, I had gain much confident and I now believe that I too can write good content! Tq so much! And not to forget other forumer who gave up their time by reading and replying my question. Your effort is so much appreciated.
Most niches have a pretty wide range of sites in them. I've written a few articles for another site that each have 2,500 to 3,000 unique viewers, and PR 5. The links pointing back help in the overall search rankings, and the articles raise my profile. Back to the question, though, writing your own content gives you an edge over a lot of sites out there.
And if you are writing your own articles - you can also submit them to article directories for back links.
Making money with free articles or making a successful site with them is just about impossible. These articles have all been published elsewhere and your site will get little traffic since the articles are not unique. You need to focus on original content, this will get you pure traffic from search engines. The main reason most blogs are successful is the content... Free article lack good content, most of the time they are free because they are looking for a link. If you can't write, hire a writer... if you can't hire a writer hire a editor to edit your writing.... if you can do that, maybe a blog is not for you.
I think people will accept your writing if what you have to say is informative. People want to feel they know the person who owns the blog and it may work to your advantage bc the content is yours alone. But also, instead of the cost of having people write for you, just have someone edit your work. Write out your blurbs and send them to someone who can correct the grammar and wording. Don't have her rewrite it - just have her finesse the grammar and inappropriate wording.
