How to replace Adsense for Income?

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by LittleChica, May 21, 2007.

Google recently banned my Adsense account because there were invalid clicks on my site - I even disabled my ad channel within hours of them occuring and reported them, I have appealed and I am waiting to see what happens - and they were my entire income on those sites.

What can I use in place of Adsense to monetize my websites? I know there are affiliate programs - I have used some but never gotten income from them> I have also used CJ, and likewise never earned income from them. I've also applied to Yahoo! Publisher, but they never answered... soo... what can I do now?

adsense is at top... adbrite to follow...

if your site has more traffic try CPMs

If you have a good PR, you can sell links or banners on your site.

Google is way too fickle. A malicious user clickings ads on my site caused my account to get disabled - and I even reported the suspicious clicks and disabled the ad channel. I don't think it matters what you do with Adsense - you can be totally legitimate, totally legal, and follow their TOS exactly, and someone else can still get your account disabled by simply clicking too many times on your ads.

IMO, that is just messed up. Glad I learned this early before I was relying on income from Google in my life. At the time, it was just a nice contribution towards my wedding budget. Ah well!

Thank you for that link to the big list Will.Spencer. I will start looking through them. I've applied to YPN several times but they are in Beta right now and it says they are only accepting limited numbers of publishers at this time. :( I hope that changes!

That's what I can't understand, Yahoo and MSN ahve a goldmine right underneath them but they won't launch a coherent and profitable ads system to rival Adwords.

CJ is good, you just need to identify a market. Adsense does pay the most for me as a single ad provider. I think it is more important to get ad revenue for a verity of sources...little amounts do add up!

Correct me if i am wrong, but google withholds all previous money you earn in that month if you somehow breach the TOS before a payout? you lose that money?

Almost sounds criminal to me. I would be talking to the biggest law firm i could find. (no win no fee lol slater and gordon)

You should have been reading Terms of Service before signing it.

As for income sources, try Text-Link-Ads (they pay A LOT) and/or AuctionAds.

What are people's thoughts on AuctionAds now they have been around for a while? My 2c:

Seems to me conversion rates are pretty bad! There seem to be too many steps required, from the item displayed being of sufficient interest, to the user actually clicking, then bidding, then buying, blah blah blah. My CTR is something appalling like 1.2%, and then you can imagine what the conversion rate is... I will probably be removing them soon...
