Check the link I gave about Alive Directory being an Authority Site - you will see that Google is showing some sub-page URLs too. It means its an authority site. Check your sites or my sites --it will show only homepage URL--so we are not authority sites. Also type sitepoint, digitalpoint, seochat -- you will see that all these sites are authority sites.
Lots of factors depend --the quality of inbound links ( how many other authority sites voting ya), the domain age, your popularity in the Niche your site is --in short -- You get the status if G parametres/algo finds that you are the best BOSS in your field -like linux.org is the top most site in LINUX related Niche. Among paid directories --I have found only 4 Authority directories --BOTW/Yahoo/Alive and business.com
yes, that's correct, even aviva directory is not an authority site. google's algo is pretty hard to understand
Sorry -I beg yar pardon-totally forgot that one-- yes--there is another Authority Directory-so total is 5.
There was a big thread on authority sites recently but here is one more http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=directorycritic http://www.directorycritic.com/
I just noticed this thread. I only want to make one clarification. The inner pages of Alive Directory are promoted too.
