Should the detail listing page be for your listing only?

I see more and more directories adding adsense and promoting other directories in the listing page.

Don't you think it would be nice to have that listing dedicated. If I buy a listing, I would like to have the detail page for my listing only and not share it with three more links.

I have a few directories that the detail page is very important for traffic and pr. So when a visitor visit the detail page of any listing, my goal is to provide traffic to my customers and promoting something else would be a distraction.

What's you view on this topic?

Personally I don't submit to the directories that have andsense all around, adsense on details with listings etc.... If I buy a listing I dont want you to add ur adsense ad, those are the directories that are in it for the quick buck.

Well thats what im trying to do in a sense...

The way i see it is that the review fee covers My review as well as a Page... which is the details page.
usually im the one adding the deep link descriptions from the info gathered from your site so in part your
going to gain the PR content that google will surely offer back this next update...
I seen that !ASK! directory Knows how to get content to pay off and its a main reason im doing this to
all my directories which will hopefully prove that im not just pressing the button and allowing PAID access
to anyone but performing a service for my customer as well as feeding the machine (google) content ...

Now with that said ... The only other way i know off to getting PR into those inner pages is by linking which
if done correctly can yield PR6 inner pages but that now is being looked at with a magnifying glass by google so..

As for the Adsence ... I dont use it and dont want it on any of my directories
I do though offer my Sitewide customers access but thats under 10 in most cases so...

If i can get you a PR5-6 details page with a few people on it would ya be happy i should ask you? :)

    thx

I guess ultimately it's up to the directory owner to decide how they wish to present/configure their details pages. Some have different goals.

I agree with you and do not have 3rd party advertising; we promote those that are listed within our directory on the details pages. We'd like to think this might help to send a bit of traffic their way.

Here's an earlier discussion on the topic:

Do you own your details pages

i guess it also depends on their stated conditions. If NOT stated, then its up to the directory owner. If you insist on having no adsense, and other outbound links, u will need to clarify with the owner first before submission.

Besides, many directories have site-wide links as well, so even then, your details page is not solely for you....

I think people may be over thinking this a little bit ....

You pay for a listing in the directory ... detail pages are simply a by-product. I always thought it was just an information summary page. Just because your link is there does not mean you own the page. :)

If you are submitting your site based on the contents of a secondary control page then you have way too much time on your hands.
