Use AdLogger To Protect Your Adsense? Think Again!

AdLogger does nothing excepting hiding the ads when the number of clicks from an IP exceed a predefined value, e.g. 4 clicks per hour.

If you think that would protect your adsense, you're totally wrong. I was one of those AdLogger believers. After got banned right during AdLogger was running, I didn't have much faith in it any more.

Even with AdLogger on, the click bomber can still click as many times he wanted to. All he has to do is preopen a lot of pages before making a click. The ads are now preloaded and ready to be clicked on as many times the click bomber wanted to. Ok, when his IP is banned by AdLogger, he could grab a list of free proxies and click a hell more out of your website. 20 clicks is enough to ban you from Adsense.

Yeah well done Google for proactively protecting your adsense publishers!

I think it's great that you're making all these posts about how adsense does not protect us.. but we all know that, IMO your going a little overboard.

Adlogger does NOT stop click attacks if a person is smart enough, but at least you have SOME proof you are trying to protect your account, and in google's TOS, it is up to us, and they can ban us at any time.

Again these posts are helpful, but making one every week or so doesn't help a thing....

I may be going overboard indeed. Just want to spread the truth around here, making sure you guys know that Google does nothing to protect us, and we do not have the slightest control to protect ourselves. AdLogger is a joke, so what else you can use to protect? Yeah maybe htaccess allow, deny, but it's totally unrelated.

There're a lot of articles on the net telling that AdLogger can protect your adsense account, but do they have the right authority to claim so? No, even they're earning 1k a day. I was banned and using AdLogger, so I gotta be the right person you should believe. Spreading false hope so that you guys believe in is so unethical. Without AdLogger, you guys will at least make more noise to urge Google to do something about it.

Many of you are so fond of passing on the myth. "I use AdLogger to protect my account." blah blah. Tell me what's the point you are sure about it. Because you haven't been banned yet, or just because your mind is telling you so. You as a human naturally find an anchor to find peace of mind. AdLogger may make good anchor for your mind but you may be a great ignorant knowing it's a lie and still count on it.

I personally think you guys should stop using the bullshit and start concentrating on urging Google to do something! The ultimate solution to prevent click-fraud is not AdLogger, it is a decent solution provided by Google. Google has the sole authority to flag you as click fraudster or not. It's not up to AdLogger that stops 4 clicks to not raise the flag. 4-click may be enough to set off the alarm already.

The only way to get heard is if a premium publisher will say what we want to say for us. Google don't usually listen to us, small publisher. Any idea ?

They're listening to you. They just don't make a mark telling you that they're here reading our posts.

I got inspired by an idea of having like Adsense Publishers Union. It's just an inspiration though. Imagine there're many small to medium publishers who joined the union. Together the union total over millions dollar of revenue per month. Right, say we want to demand a solution for publishers to be protected from click fraud. Just make a press release about it urging Google to talk one on one. If they fail to do so, the union will then go on strike by pulling adsense code out until Google comes to talk and provide a solution. Google will be so obliged to talk, because it's about losing millions a month. (and being a member of the union, you have already expected to go on strike and is willing to lose revenue doing so)

This is just an idea though. If only there were a suitable person who is willing to lead this kind of union.

Maybe adlogger should block ads if people open multiple windows

Again, I ask you "What is your bargaining chip?" Strike? Best of luck organizing something like that. When you've got piles of people trying to get INTO adsense, striking probably won't do you much good. What is the answer? I don't know...I, too, wish for more protections for honest publishers. That may be part of the problem right there...too many DIShonest publishers that give publishers a bad name and make it easier to just to a quick ban than try to thoroughly investigate each case of wild clicks (especially when the better percentage of them MAY in fact be fraudulent)

Adlogger is there to reassure people. Its not bulluet proof, so to speak, but it does give you some confidence.

True, and it's certainly better than running without it. Like a seatbelt...is it going to protect you from every type of crash? Nope, but it's going to increase your odds in a LOT of cases.

That's what I said. You're seeking only peace in your mind not a protection for your adsense account.

Protect my a*s. Haven't I told you AdLogger couldn't protect me? I was banned! But i'm not here to change stubborn minds anyway. It's none of my business having empathy toward to you guys. Afterall, I'm banned from Adsense. You use AdLogger or not doesn't matter to me.

Remember you're not special or different than me, dude. I was banned, so could you! To think that you're an exception is ignorant.

As you've pointed out repeatedly, you can still get banned. We're not disagreeing with that. Adlogger (or home cooked versions) do not INCREASE your chances of being banned, though. It also provides other functionality than just blocking IPs that click too much. Yes there are ways to get around that and circumvent that protection, but not everyone who click bombs you is going to do that. If it stops one person from clicking you out, it's worth running. I don't feel that I have a golden shell about me because of it, not in the least, but I am no worse off than not having it, and I derive other benefits.

I think adlogger is more useful in the fact it can provide click logs than the fact it can block adverts from people. If you have a record with proof that this click fraud was unrelated to you, and you contact google in a diplomatic way you should be able to sort it.

Hmm, what about starting an online petition? I know you started a digg to get people on board, but would about an epetition or something of the sort?

Get a domain, and get people to start signing up, then if people start digging, stumbling that, you might actually get googles attention.

On the net, there is no real way to block anybody. With the millions of proxy sites, static ip's and so on there is nothing that can be done to fully prevent it.

Not sure what you mean by this, if you're asking if google will approve your site if you place the code on it the answer is maybe. The code wont help google make their decision. If you're asking will you get banned if you use adlogger the answer is no.
