I have adsense on there at the moment, but its not very good at making money. Only get $1 or so every so often.

The site gets over 2000 uniques a day usually.

Any advice is appreciated.

That's a proxy, right? Where are you getting traffic from?

If it's teens from schools and colleges, US, you may be able to sell text links or banners to other webmasters having myspace sites or other teen oriented sites.

2K uniques per day is a decent starting point to check out pay per view ads instead of pay-per-click like adsense. Or maybe try some affiliate programs.

 

yeah..try to get some banner ads that are CPM...at $1.00 CPM, $2/day that's a decent revenue stream for starters.. a lot better than an occasional adsense $1

 

That is pretty good traffic for a site that has no PR (so its probably new?) what6 promotion techniques are you using?

I'm getting traffic from myspace and proxy top sites.
I will look into selling banner space, but can anyone indicate to a possible selling price for the banners, as I have no idea to be honest.

 

Yeah it got 3k yesterday and 5k today. It's getting more popular by the day

 

Wow! Nice man, keep working at it. What I'd recommend is putting a frame at the top and putting a banner there with a 'back' link. I don't know how to make it...just a suggestion.

My thoughts ... Why don't you change your adsense placement.
Remember, always put your "Profit elements" in a visible spot.

It's well blended, but I had to scroll all the way through. The main purpose/element of your site is in the first half of the site. So the conversions are much lower.

Instead of putting is a footer, try putting it as a header.

A small proxy network makes me a reasonable amount each month. You already have traffic, so now you need to make the most of it. Adsense only accounts for a small % of my monthly income.

adversal and adbrite are some places worth checking out.

 

I would use adversal but you have to have a website that has at least two pages with content. Mine only has one so I cant use that.
As for adbrite, I cant do that as I dont think they allow proxy sites.

 

well, how difficult would it be to make a couple more pages for your proxy site - what about an about page and a TOS page - you would have 3 pages then wouldn't you.

I have been using adbrite for the last 3 months and not had any problems.

You ask a question, you were given advice and all you see are barriers. Take these barriers, break them down and start earning or simply do nothing and complain that you cannot earn from your site.

 

My suggestions are:

1. Sell text ads on top of your site
2. Sell text ads on bottom of your site
3. Start to offer a newsletter, so you get huge subscribers
4. Start a pay-per-impression service
5. Put products and services on your page (use aff. links targeted to your niche)

I've had decent luck on my proxy site with Chitika. I only average about 50 uniques a day, but even with just that I get one or two clicks a day and if you've got US traffic, they've got a pretty good payout.
