Well, a lot of traffic for me anyway. One of my blog averages about 100 uniques a day. Yesterday I wrote about a local story that became national today. So far I've had 2,000 uniques today--still climbing. I'm #4 on Google for some very good keywords, and #1 (the site people are trying to find) has apparently been sold, so the content people are trying to find is now gone. 1. How can I best cash in on this ASAP (adsense, one clickbank link, and amazon are all in place) 2. Any advice on getting these visitors to return? www.itfrom.us if you need to see my site to get some ideas Thanks!
I would try to cash in when I reach 10k+/ day and not at 2k+ which still is a low traffic and focus on HOW DO I INCREASE MY TRAFFIC based on the 2k+ visitors I have. How do I transform them in returning visitors. What story should I post tomorrow to FEED them and make them want MOAAAAA
try adding a book mark U item to your page or maybe add an auto responder sign up option for a free "5 day..." or just write in real big letters on your header "PLEASE COME BACK EVERYDAY AROUND NOON PEOPLE"
Suck in as many as you can, and do whatever you can to keep them. Maybe add a form asking for their email so you can updated with more news about the article you wrote.
I think this surge in traffic will be for a few days only, and not for a longer period. However, this article or post can help you get links for your site as it can be a very good link bait. What you can do for now is to add a Google Ad in the post. This might help a little.
Definately start by increasing your bandwidth quota to keep the site online through higher amounts of traffic. Get the site back online asap as you are losing visitors.
Yes, your bandwidth has reached and I can't see it. It is best that you cater more bandwidth if you want to generate $$$ otherwise your effort will be down to the drain as no one will come back when this happens.
You better increase your bandwidth or else there is no point in losing all the traffic you could have got.
oops bandwidth limit excess...sorry couldn't reach your site, all you have to do it upgrade your hosting.
yikes! I saw the site in the morning.. but getting the Bandwidth error now Maybe the link you posted here also contributed to this bandwidth problem
Thanks for at least checking it guys... I shaved my pages down to the bare minimum and upped my bandwidth. That was more than paid for just with AdSense from yesterday. Of course I won't know about affiliate conversions until later. My feed subscriptions have tripled, so it looks like I'll get some return traffic off of this. It's funny where this stuff comes from. It reminds me of having a yard sale...nobody buys what you think is your best stuff. They only want the things you were thinking about just throwing away because you thought no one would want them.
Not trying trying to be a smart ass but why would you have a b/w cap at so small a usage? 2k cant possibly be using much b/w.
i dont agree with that. you can do cash in anytime. just still focus on more traffic to your site constantly. anyway i would say put adsense on your site ASAP for some revenue. ^^
Yep, I was thinking the same as rosie. --- And get a better webhost if you intend to keep those people coming back.
Yeah, my pages were much larger (~300k) before I trimmed them down. Now they are small. Thanks for the suggestions guys!
