I have ALWAYS worn seatbelts for as long as I can remember. Good thing too. The day before Thanksgiving in 1992, seatbelts saved my life in a car crash with a semi truck. I walked away without injury, even though the car was picked up and "thrown" by the truck end over end three revolutions (bouncing) before landing in a ditch. The police officer told me he saw a similar accident the week prior where the young girl driving was NOT wearing her seatbelt. She did not survive.
You where lucky we where in a car accident in december went throw a bridge and we were luck 2 my kids where saved by the car seats. I know how imprtant they are. Same with seat belts with out the seat belt i would of went throw the window.
Oh yes. Do not get me wrong. I firmly believe that "God was with me" on that morning. However, I don't think he minded me shifting the odds in my favor to begin with by wearing my seatbelt...
When I drive my Ford Excursion I wear a seatbelt because itll make an annoying beep until I do, but my bit of "safe" driving there is kinda balanced by the fact that I drive my ninja 80% of the time.
Starting about two years ago, I wear my seat belt 100% of the time whether I am driving or a passenger or whether I'm going for a 200 mile drive or a 2 minute drive. Just decided I was going to go all in. Definitely makes me feel safer and like to set a good example for my daughter.
oy! I'd be disconnecting that wire for sure, even though I'd wear the belt all the time anyway. do the Excursion's beep when they back up? you know b/c they are as big as a dump truck?
yeah but come on, the odds of that happening again like that are probably like 8.8 billion to 1 seat belts have sure saved a lot more lives than they've lost!!
