I just brought a new aStore online this weekend. I tried to design a layout that blends the Amazon's iframe in as much as possible. Also I figured out how to link to product sections (in iframe) from my page. What are some other tips /tricks to maximize the potential of this aStore? Looking forward to any reviews, suggestions, tips, and tricks. www.Tech-Gifts.com Also, what aStore marketing methods would work best for this site?
this seems very oldie type of design, definately requires a refreshed modern look. and iframe no good for search engines.
Certainly one of the better aStores I've seen. Still, the old questions remain of how and why will potential customers come to your site. IMHO, aStores are big flop for Amazon. They're not indexable. The bots see no content as they don't run scripts. Your store ends up in Google's supplemental index at best. Amazon just annoumced a new widget (basically a custom ad) to help drive traffic to an aStore. Don't think many Associates will use it as it's preferable to send a visitor directly to an Amazon landing page.
My tip is to change the ad under "Tech Gifts" to a new ad style call "aStore Widget" on your aStore control panel at amazon
I've just started playing with the aStores and it seems like they are a nice way to supplement the Adsense ads on your site. For example, I have a blog on which I occasionally review books. I link to the Amazon landing pages directly in the blog posts, but I also put an aStore widget on the sidebar that randomly shows a few of my "recommended books." It doesn't take any maintenance, the book covers are eye-catching, and they always are relevant to the blog. I don't think it would be worth building a whole site around just the aStore, though.
Nonny what you did it's actually very good, because now you display books from your aStore related to your blog, you choiced the products in your aStore so those products are very related to your blog
