Putin should be on trial too.

Just followed the last diplomatic dispute with Germans Angelika and Putin, this guy is completely nuts.

I'd be not surprised if he was found to be the leading cause.

Putin is less nuts than Bush, what are you talking about. Both serve in the interest of own countries.

it does when you avoid wars. Eltsin is more nuts for me, sending 18 years old young guys to Chechnya, what an idiot he was. Now there are only contractors.

I will say one phrase : when ur becoming stronger and more powerful, no one will love you. This is goes for US and now for Russia, too.

good point, Russia is also hunting for a few people in UK like Boris Berezovsky. So I doubt they will help with Lugovoy.

Yes and UK are unlikely to let Berezovsky go back to Russia

Depending on the value of Lugovoy and Berezovsky, Putin would think nothing of swapping Lugovoy if he cannot assassinate Berezovsky in UK

Lets see how Putin plays his cards

maybe they will exchange them :) But I don't think so. I don't know much about Lugovoy, and what his role in Russia. Berezovsky is very rich & clever, no chances.

The russians will protect this guy, and he will never go to trial. I personally still think Putin was involved in this.

Here is some interesting Andrei Lugovoy Profiles
    http://www.axisglobe.com/article.asp?article=1152
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrei_Lugovoi
In an interview with Channel 4 News, Lugovoy again said police had "no evidence" of his guilt and should look for Mr Litvinenko's killers in London, not Moscow.
    http://icsouthlondon.icnetwork.co.u...bjectid=19166448&siteid=106484-name_page.html

He also hinted that he believed the "strange meetings" he had with Mr Litvinenko were part of a wider plot to frame him in his murder.

The former KGB agent appeared relaxed and confident his government would refuse his extradition, saying he was about to play football. He said: "I can say that I am absolutely calm as I am absolutely innocent. The statement offered by the British prosecutors is no more than a version. I, on the other hand, am convinced that I did not kill Litvinenko.

"Moreover, I am fully and deeply convinced that the British justice (system) does not have any evidence. I also do not understand how they will claim I had a motive, and if there's no motive it's difficult to imagine they have a case."

Lugovoy is said to own one company company Pershin which is involved in private security, soft drinks and wine, and is said to be worth £100 million.

I think the chances of this guy being extradited are zero to nil this guy has all the connections and money needed to ensure that he will be well protected, by not only the KGB etc but by the network of associates he operates within

I think the image they give out these type of guys, is generally to look normal and average, all part of their KGB training to keep low profile and to be able to move around without creating a lot of interest by the media & press

You could describe it another way super cool

After all they are trained assassins:eek:

nah...doesnt make sense. If he seemed as an average guy to me. But you are right, 80-90% of wealth in the whole country is in Moscow. That's why we've got sooooo many people throughout the country, who hates moscow people, including me.

I didn't mean it literally. I meant the vast wealth of the country is in the hands of the 3-5% of the country. Russia sold off all its public assets to rich individuals.

    Spy death: Russia blocks extradition
    http://edition.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/05/22/uk.spy/index.html
However, the response from the Russian prosecutor-general's office appeared to rule out extradition.

"In line with article 61 of Russia's constitution, a Russian cannot be handed over to another state," spokeswoman Marina Gridneva told reporters.

No pressure on this guy at all, don't expect anything to happen quickly in this case

Yes these days the Russian Government seems to arrest people for minor events like Gary Kasparov for saying a few things and criticising the Government

This is funny :) My sister lives in UK, and when I was on the phone speaking to her, she said "I saw Kasparov" on TV saying things ,etc. I said Kasparov ? She said yes. I haven't seen this guy for sooo long in Russia or media. So it was surprising to me, that he went into Politics.

I don't believe that it can't be just one guy behind the murder. He had to have help with the radioactive material, getting it into Britain, etc. Blair should be making a far larger stink about what happened because it jeopardized the health and lives of a lot of Britains who were exposed to the radioactive material.
