Increase Alexa Ranking via Redirect

I was reading a fellow DP'ers blog about increasing Alexa ranking via a redirect.

Basically it is saying to use your signature at forums to link to your site via Alexa

Like so: http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.fataussie.com

I have a few queries about this though...

Does it work?
Will it effect your ranking on SE's?

Is anyone else doing this? Have you seen an increase in your ranking at Alexa?

 

Yes i know about that.My friend told me about it when i was chatting with him.
My friend told me that this works and with help of this his alexa rank improved.It only affects our ranking on Alexa.

 

Just put the Alexa Widget on your blog / website. It will greatly improve your rankings. No need to use alexa's redirects.

 

Cant say Im a big fan of the Alexa widgets.

If someone comes to my bog and the widget loads, does that count towards my Alexa ranking?

or does a visitor have to click on it?

That's my blog . Using that redirect like one I use in my signature here to my blog does, work.

 

This cant work! Just some crap! Do you have the proof that's work with this method?

Seems a bit bizarre, and will it muck up your backlink prosperity?!
