tag clouds effective?

do tag clouds benefit a site when they are on there? since they put more words on the site itself to be noticed?

 

I use tag clouds with Joomla and it seems to help. I would like a definative answer too. When I remove them taffic seems to decrease. I have no hard data to prove it just a general observation.

 

I doubt it but might be something short term related that search engines will send traffic to anchor keywords from tag clouds.

 

it wont help to pass pr or in seo, coz if there are 100+ outgoing links google will giv it least importance.

 

it's just a link farm, a page with lot's of link without any content and the links are not related.

 

Tag cloud not only give benefit to the reader but can help searches find the result they are looking for.

 

Remember Quality not quantity, the clouds quality is very low.

 

I guess you are talking about word cloud.

for me, its really much important to have a links from related sites rather than getting listed to this cloud.....
