I think that the best is unique content, which: 1. You should submit 2. You should put on your web-sites In this case your web-site will never loose, other seo techniques may vary a lot and do not work in future.
Updating your site as often as possible (not overdoing it with 100 new pages a day of course) is also good for SERPS.

My personal strategy of choice for getting traffic and good SERP's... Most of my effort is focused on article marketing. I write an article around a specific keyword, and distribute that article to as many directories as possible. Also other webmasters pick up my articles for republishing, which increases my link count even more. I also focus on forum posting a lot, with a link to my site in my signature file. I tried submitting my link to some directories, but decided that this was not an efficient use of my time.

Heh, try to get a better design at least so that it will make the visitors want to stay on. There's just too much directory banners at your site ... Anyway, just blog more, blog something different, then you will attract football readers.
