Hey everyone, I am not really new to the idea of Affiliate Marketing but I have yet to make 1 Dollar. My latest venture involved registering a domain name and redirecting the domain name to my affiliate link. advertising of course, is my biggest problem. I have advertised all over the web. Some free, some paid for. I am seriously thinking of rolling the dice and spending a heap of money on a radio commercial or full page ad in a newspaper or magazine. Anyone think that’s a good Idea?? Or got any new ideas for a clickbank wannabe like myself?? ...Thanks!

Your idea is good, you need to work better at targeting your traffic. This can be done only by trial and error.

Instead of advertising in newspapers you could write a good press release?

    1. Don't redirect the domain to an affiliate link. Instead build a full website (might be a microsite with just a few pages).
    2. Try to offer content people will like to share.
    3. As for Clickbank - I don't know. I don't like it. All the looong pages look like scam to me. Why don't you try Shareasale, Commission Junction, indie affiliate programs, AuctionAds / Ebay... ? Something real, not these e-books.

Let me add to Lenz's first point. A basic rule of affiliate marketing is you MUST have your own site or sales page where you can "presell" your customer...get him/her "in the mood" to buy. If you send them directly to the affiliate site, you will almost always lose the sale.

Take a look at the third point in this brief article I wrote: http://www.twopercentclub.com/tpcmembers/index.php?page=affiliate_skills and pick up a copy of Ken Evoy's "Make Your Content Presell" at the bottom of the page. It's free.

You should also read his "Affiliate Masters Course" (free also). You can get a copy at http://www.twopercentclub.com/tpcmembers/index.php?page=free_tools.

These two ebooks, while free, are considered some of the most solid affiliate informational guides in the industry.

The information should help you get on the right track.

    First make some good contents.
Advertising in radio is a good idea.
Newspaper release , i think , any tech or net magazing advertising affect more than , it , but , first , make good content in you site.

Yes we should not quit just because one project is not making money YET. We should always review back as to why we are not producing the necessary results if we have put in sufficient efforts. Perhaps we are doing it the wrong way or we did not research well but whatever the reasons may be, do not give up. Discover via your interests, your passion, your job and start with a niche you love and you cannot go wrong. I suggest you to check out the site wantedpronto.co.uk/
a reliable resource for making online earning.

Let me end with a quote:
"If you start to think the problem is ‘out there,’ stop yourself. That thought is the problem."

Almost all the Affiliate ebooks give importance to the value of content on your site. Even the ones mention above, the one by Ken Evoy "Make Your Content Presell" focuses on how you should have lots and lots of content and useful information for your users on the site.

IMO, a complete website will be a better idea than a redirected domain. With a website, you can do so much and earn revenue from several sources, like adsense, selling ebooks, signup visitors (whom you can promote things later on) and others. You wouldnt be relying on affiliates only for revenue.
