Hello, I think I cannot believe on directories that you get better PR when you add your Link to them. Usually I write fresh content and articles on my web page every day. 2 months ago I found out that Google is indexing my web page every 7 days. I was very happy and I saw that my PR was 2 at that time. It was 0 before. Then I thought ok, Google likes me and I have to do something to get better PR. I paid someone to add my web page to 800 directories. It was 3 weeks ago. Right now Google is indexing my web page every 2 days and I try to have always something new on it but my PR is still 2. After all I think it is hard to believe that the directories help to increase your PR. My question is: What do you think about it? And I will be very happy for any suggestion. Thanks, ameran
If google is indexing you more frequently, that's a good thing. Maybe the directory links helped with that. I think directories help if they're SEO friendly. Just like any other link, it depends on page rank, keywords, relevance, etc.. Just don't make the mistake I did and use the wrong keywords. I didn't realize how much weight this would have and my site mainly shows for a keyword phrase that doesn't do me a lot of good. This is all from my directory links.
directory links r good but that depends on directorys not all will help you.Get revelant hig pr links to get site index fast and also helps to get PR.Finally RSS feeds of your sites always helps to get index fast
I have a question: Is it ok to use the same description for your web site when you are adding it into the different directories? ameran
Well i must say you are Wrong Big Time Directorys work (now depends what quality was the service you used) but they bring one way links and get good rankings (pr to but as i say evrywhere PR is just a number) Olso PR update it's once at 3 months so you missed the last one wait for the next one
directories are one of the best ways for one way link building. you must thin one more time about them
Hello, I don't say directories are not good. I am just saying I didn't get any results after submission into 800 directories. I hope I will get a good result later. ameran
The pagerank (here - the toolbar pagerank) is not updated on the fly , google updates it form time to time. But directories are free and gives results. You'll see the pr results on the next update.
Toolbar PR is only updated 3 to 4 times per year.....an update just passed so you'll have to wait a couple months for another one
I don't understand this one...my site is indexed by the Googlebot like every 5 minutes: Googlebot 20369+95 (This month) I have heard others say this also, what's the "skinny "on it? Anyone know why there is a difference?
There is nothing bad about directories.. But for better SEO value -- -- Use different title/descriptions -- Dont submit to 800 directories in a go - submit slowly -- Do the work manually.
How good submitting to directorys is matters of what the pr is of the directory and your anchor. I can say for myself I pulled a pr 4 from mostly just directory submitting. On the next update I'm assuming pr 6 or 7. Directories are a good key to getting a higher pr quickly.
I do believe in directories. But, only for my page rank. For instance, I would not rely on a directory for heavy traffic unless that particular directory is heavily trafficked and you have a featured link. Other than that, I only submit for page rank and to build back links.
