About 10 of the websites I run have had really bad SERPs in Google. In Yahoo and MSN, I have most of them in the top two pages. Sometime this weekend, Google increased the SERPs of these sites into the top 3 or 4 pages, whereas before they weren't even in the top 50 pages of search results. I haven't done anything more than minimal SEO on these sites in the last week or so, and none of them have had a full SEO job done on them. Has anyone else seen a crazy increase in SERPs this weekend from Google? What the heck would have caused this?
This might be it. None of these websites are more than 6 weeks old. Google now has every page on these sites indexed, whereas before they only had their home pages indexed.
This tells me that the sites are yet to be sandboxed. I assume your site(s) will be sandboxed soon thereby will loose the current SERP rankings. Just a guess.
Hey, that's not good news! Actually, it's not a big deal. These websites are being promoted through traditional marketing methods, so the SERPs aren't a huge thing. Still, it would be great to increase traffic above and beyond the expectations of my clients.
It is quiet possible for new websites to enjoy decent ranking in SERPs for the first few weeks. But, it is very rare that a site can escape the mysterious sandbox. I personally have experienced this with some of my sites before. I would suggest continue link building process and add tons of new content regularly.
Usualy even a new site can get high serps. What we noticed is that it doesnt really matter how old the site is as long as you are getting quality (one way links) from everyone else. When everyone loves you, google will start loving you to :x
