this pic from a one page book from simplyclicks site that show a summary of seo share ur most important step in seo in my opinion Link buying as paid Getting backlinks from forums & blogs as free
These days it's purchasing an older, already indexed domain that's keywordrich.com, but-certainly-not-spammy.com Pete
How can you say such a thing? When i goto site:mysite.com on google, its first page description is taken from DMOZ! A LOT OF PEOPLE are browsing DMOZ, a lot of people dont get SEO and they love giving away links. I noticed that more people get into SEO and understand it they dont share links that easily. Imagine what we have acomplished with the web, we now need to BUY links !!! What happened with the old love link?
So what would you say is more important content or links as i think for certain keywords on site optimisation can do wonders in serps while on more competitive you definately need quality links.
Why link buying? I prefer free backlinks(link exchange) rather than that buying a links.... Free and paid have the same effect in Traffic so why buy when you get it for free...
The first step is documentation. Before you start doing something you must find out what is well at the moment. As most of you know, for example, that the Google ranking factors are changing from time to time. So we have to try to do our best to be in touch with any important change. Anyway the first step has to do something with the onpage optimisation, from my opinion this crytical. And after that i go to the offpage optimisation "section".
Keyword research - there's no point doing anything if you're targeting the wrong keywords to start with.
Reciprocal links shouldn't be on that summary. They do nothing for SEO purposes. Research is the key to success, researching your keywords, and your best link opportunities.
Not True If both sites are content related. If a PR1 exchangs links with a PR5 = good for the PR1 no love for the PR5 Higher traffic rates on the exchanged with site. For example... a reciprocal from wordpress.org to your site would do wonders for your site. Yes? Exchanges are awesome. Just as a for instance, I helped the guys at majorgeeks with a font issue. I already had a link to their site on mine, but after helping they reciprocated. I'm drawing nearly 200 uniques a month from that exchange. I'm drawing in 300 uniques from an exchange at WordPressTheme (albeit it was one of the conditions on the sale of the site)(And having the recip on wordpress.org was certainly one of the factors regarding the price of the sale). Our sites are in no way related. but that's 500 uniques a month.
My most important step in SEO is a decent title. For link development, perhaps not the most important step, but one overlooked is a Google alert on link:competitor.tld and track what's being added/picked up.
I start with a keyword domain which already is keyed at least 10,000 searches on overture a month. I use the good keywords tool since it's free.. I know there are better tools. So, then I optimize my page for the phrase and use the phrase in anchor text as well. I'm careful to not spam the pages with the phrase but I do use bolding and underlining and the main body. Title tag is important too.
I didn't say there was anything wrong with reciprocals. They can be great for getting traffic, and targeted traffic. But they do nothing for your rankings, sorry. Google killed them off long ago. They're too easy to get.
