where to get a VISA CARD in India ? and how much it costs ?

hi everyone
i want to verify my paypal account by adding a visa credit card.
i want to open a bank account in State Bank of India.
can you guide me how will i get a VISA card after that ?
wat is the cost to make a visa card ?
will i be avle to verify my paypal account with a visa card which i made in India ?

 

well trust me i get lot of calls from credit card companies daily give me your phone number and name ill give your reference, they just eat my head and force me to take the card for free , lol
other option is just go to bank and ask them u want a card.
you will need basic documents and proofs to get the card. so keep those ready.

To get verified, you must have a credit card.You must go to your bank account and apply for a credit card.This credit card can be backed up with a master Card logo or a VIsa card logo. Any one can be used for verififying your paypal.You dont have to pay anything for applying a Credit card.To be eligible for a credit card, you must be able to furnish certain document, including your salary slip of the company which you are working for.Also your proof of residence will be counter checked by the bank.It is only when you fullfil these two main conditions, only then you can get a credit card.So be prepared before you enter your bank for applying a credit card.

is ICICI a safe and secure bank ?
my dad had an account in ICICI but they sent big bills for no reason...

 

I think u can get CC from any Banks in India !

 

If you are a student, I am not sure if you will eligible to get a CC, even I am a student.. but I have not applied for a CC yet lol.
My suggestion, if your Dad or any family member has a Visa Credit Card of an International bank, then ask them to get you an Add On Visa Credit Card, hmm how do I frame it? It means...Supposingly your dad has a Visa Credit Card, he can get you 1 as an Addon card, attached to his Bank Account,Credit Card. But it will be completely in your name and you will get seperate monthly statement too. So you can verify your paypal account using that Credit Card.
If thats not the case, then open a Bank account and apply for a CC, verify your paypal when you get it. Or Get a Virtual Credit Card (which many DP members sell here) (or you can make such cards using HDFC Netsafe, but you need an HDFC account). Use the VCC to verify your account, but if your account is verified using a VCC, you wont have any proof to submit if paypal asks (cases like limited account).

I know its a big post and not properly framed too, but I am very tired today lol.

Another simple option for you is to use a virtual credit card.
I recommend epay (http://tinyurl.com/3b44x6), they have
VCC's which can be used to verify your PayPal account.

One can also get a credit card against a fixed deposit....ICICI gives a CC against a minimum fixed deposit of 20000...no questions asked ...just proof of residence and photo identity proof required.

I would suggest going to the bank which you wanna open an account with and talking to them as to how will you get a CC fast? Maybe most of the banks do provide CC against Fixed Deposit - As mentioned by sachin

If you are a student , you are not eligible for CC , try your dad's account to ask for CC. Using vcc may create problems many time , when your account goes limited.You cant send them your cc transiction and detailed statistics.

 

There are student's credit cards too...which need parent's income proof...but I think banks only give these to students of well known/premier institutes only.

 

you can also get an additional card on your dads credit card! that's another option, in case you have a pan card, then it will be pretty easy for you to get an sbi visa card, cheers

You can get someone in the US to buy a gift card that works like a real visa credit card, then you can transfer your money to them inexchange for the card.
