The best to check what google think about specific domain is that how google rank them. If site is in top 10 for competitive phrase then google trust that domain. and it is good to buy a link on that domain
If PS is not abused, yes. I would further check the stats given by PS tool. I wouldn't use it and the result stats as they show. Just like you want to check more than just TBPR. Checking del.icio.us links is one of those. You can tell which ones are natural or not. Also checking on .edu links is recommended.
It could be considered to determine if the site is authoritative or not in the eyes of G. It is a little small factor but experienced link buyers may want to add this check-up. Thanks for sharing it. This is even better. I do this often in fact, and now I realized I don't know why I didn't include it in the list. The focus here is on "going for a higher SERP position" rather than PR itself.
Those are good overall tips , I personally like the TIP 7 more because it's organic my tip is sticking with organic traffic, it's the best revenue generator.
very useful guide for beginners. should definitely go in to more depth about links for traffic though
I will be only hard if the site has no meta tags. But if a site has done normal on-page SEO, it's almost obvious to know what keywords/keyphrases they promote with, at least 1-2 keywords if not all.
So how do you determine a price to sell links for? I am considering selling links on my store website dunriteprinting.com which is a PR4 and pretty busy, I am going to put them under a customers page - so it wont say anything about buy a link here or anything like that. I want it to be really nice and clean to, so I think they would be all hand edited, maybe with a little article about each "customer" I was thinking 4$ a month, is that fair and maybe a discount if you buy a years worth. Since it is my screen printing storefront, I don't want any porn ads on their either, which should make it higher value too.
Pricing a link is pretty much depending on the site owner. But sellers tend to check up things to determine the value. Simply to say, the cheaper the better to sell obviously. If you advertise well, then you can raise the price value. If your site got high PR, heavy traffic, ranked high in SEs, etc, then you don't want to sell links cheaply To see the average price based on PR, you might want to visit link sale forum. I suggest that you should go through many sellers and get some idea how much they charge and how much buyers want to buy. But remember that DP is a very competitive market for link sellers, so buyers often seek lower prices.
In addition to the first post of mine, I would like to add 1 more thing here. This tip may be risky, but it could be good for advanced link buyers. Potential of link seller's site : If you can somehow know what would happen to the website you are interested in purchasing a link, you can be an ultimate link buyer because buying links is like "investment" for your website. If you are an aggressive link buyer, you may not be interested in buying links on PR4 website, for example. But what if the site becomes PR6 in the next update? The current price may be a little high for PR4, but it would be very cheap if it's for a future PR6 backlink. Of course, you won't just "guess" and throw money. If you find one that interests you, you may want to keep an eye on it and watch how they grow. Homework: Check alexa ranking Check indexed pages Check # of backlinks Rank in the Google SERP Know their promotion methods If these are increasing consistently in a website, the backlinks from it will be valuable. You can even expect their PR to be high in the next Google update.
Exactly, if you like the site (our is very very nice ) and the price is acceptable it's always good to have another link which points to your website.
Check the Page Title, and description. These will normally have the keyword the person is looking for. In addition, go to yahoo and look at the link text of the links the person doing the SEO obviously had point to the page. Truly organic links normally have a wide range of words in the text. The ones that the person is looking to achieve are grouped and very similar if not exactly the same.
Good tips. Pergaps the strongest point being people checking the pr of page of link and not the domain. Many people check the domain and get their links on pages with 0 PR.
Glad to be a help. If many think this is a valuable resource and requests for sticky, I would ask a mod for it. The tips should help people be wise in purchasing links. After all, no one wants to waste money or be pulled their legs...
Traffic is important and do not judge a site by Alexa ranking as Alexa ranking is based upon only 20% of Web users!
I acknowledge that alexa rankings do not tell you the whole traffic statistics, but as an objective tool, it is one of tools that we can use for a reference. Any suggestion on a good tool to observe traffic?
