The artificial blood – which will be available in about a decade – is sterile, easily stored and could be given to any patient via transfusion regardless of their blood type. The synthetic blood is not a long-term substitute for the real thing but can keep patients alive until a transfusion can be carried out. It is most likely to be used where real blood is not available. The blood which has the composition of runny honey was created by experts as sheffield University in the UK. Red blood must be refrigerated and has a shelf life of a little over a month. Care has to be taken to ensure any used for transfusion is the same type as a patients blood group. The artificial version is free of such problems. It can be stored at room temperature for months.
until and unless the mind can be stored on a CD, immortality won't be possible, we can just hope to avoid the death!
Even if the mind can be stored on a CD can conciousness be transferred? I mean what if you load the CD to another person, you might not be living as that person but he's just another copy of you? If we can copy the CD to another CD then there will be 2 copies of you but none of which is actually you, therefore i think conciousness cannot be transferred. What is really possible in the future is becoming a cyborg! and I like to watch Ghost in the Shell
I honestly love how the world is progressing right now. I just saw another article about gas powered artificial muscles.
