How to get on first page of Google search results!

I am not a Seo expert. I Have a website which ranks 7th in first page of google for a famous keyword. I havent read any seo ebooks or anyother seo articles. Just added a 4 to 6 meta tags in my website and posted my website in many classifieds websites. Please do not ask for the Keyword or website name. i can give you the meta tags if you wish.
I tried the same technique with my other websites for different keywords. It worked well.

 

Well I'll certainly question that 'popular keyword'. Meta tag alone ...doesn't really help. in fact some of the meta tags such as meta keyword is not even used by the big search engines.

Yes. You are correct. But i said iam not an seo expert to analyse Page rank, design techniques and whatever google checks for top position. But worked well with me. Let me reveal one of the keyword and my website which ranks
2nd in google.ca.

Keyword is "online data entry jobs" and the website is allinternetjobs.

Hope any Seo expert can analyse and tell the theory.

 

It's not a "Keyword" it's a searched phrase, and the competition is not as high as say..."Marketing", "Design", or SEO.

I just checked my position for the keywords I tried to rank first (with the tecnique used in the article), and I am ranking 2 AND 3 for the given keywords now.

I explained the technique I am using for a given keyword with over 1.500.000 results in Google and I'm ranking 2° and 3°.

I have someone wanting to get on the first page of major keywords though.

Such as:

Chocolate, Champagne, Baby

I mean how do you suggest this. Its a localized shop but they want main keywords...

1 quick tip, in choosing the right keywords, once you have selected the primary keyword for your site, you can also add keywords that are not present in your main keyword. Instead of just putting up Motel Sydney, you can insert the word Australia, or NSW, or accommodation. Have them in your title tag, index page, so the homepage gets to rank higher on a wider variety of search.

However, meta-tags are used by many smaller search engines like our own and search engines LOVE to crawl each other for content. So, in the end, meta-tags may impact the results in the bigger search engines.

 

Only thing you need is plenty of links to get to the front page. Harder keywords will just require more links that's all.

 

Yes but by using this technique, maybe 100 backlinks would be enough to get on the first place for certain keywords. By getting ONLY links without optimising your website for the aimed keywords, you would need 1.000 links instead of 100.
