How to raise apge rank

Whats the best techniques you guys have used to raise page rank, and do you think buying a lot of pr4-5 featured links from high quality directories do it?

If i was going to buy links, i wouldn't do it on a directory but from a real website dedicated to my subject.

 

I had to chime in here. I had a free hosted blog, (i still have it, but I moved the content to my own domain), that only had 3 related links from websites, a lot of content, and sig links and maybe 1 press release and 3 digg articles, and maybe 300 or so, free directories, and on the last update it went from no PR to PR 4. Here is the old blog. (the blog was only 3 months old with 41 posts)
I read a lot of advice, and it has always been the rule to build links, but I didn't and still got PR.

Is there some advice that you guys are leaving out ?
Link building seems to be the constant song sung, and that was not the case.

So I vote for quality content and frequent updates overall.

 

Me, forum posting is one.. Fast crawl by SEs. The other link building is social bookmarkings..... Lots of links related links...

 

I second using social bookmarking. All it takes is one digg, and my traffic to the dugg page skyrockets. But the effect doesn't last long. What's important is that it drives qualified traffic to your site quickly.

 

you can get some pr4 links for free over in the freebies section of this thread...they will help, but you still need quality backlinks.

 

You would need links from high PR sites with similar theme.Of late , link selling has been so rife that Google is allegedly trying to sift bought links from natural links.So you would have to be careful in buying links if you intend to.You can get links from free directories.Though they may take long to approve your site, many of then eventually do look and approve.

 

You did have "3 related links from websites", "sig links", "3 digg articles", and "300 or so free directory links". That's plenty of links to help raise your pr. Even one link can raise your PR if the site linking to you has PR.

 

The best way is to get more quality links from relevant sites.

 

Absolutely right. If you have quality link to your blog, SE will give you high SERP. This is the reality.

PR is based on the volume or rating of quality inbound links in your site that is indexed by Google, I suggest building more links may speed up your PR increase.
