Is email marketing something of the past? When is the last time you bought something from receiving an email offer? And how many of those emails actually get past the spam filters? Is it worthwhile to even collect emails?
I will answer the last question - YES! For my op-in list I have a very low unsubscribe rate (about 1%), and I have a good response rate (about 5% I think). Why? Because I out-in emails from relevant pages only, suggesting a value added information. For instance, if you sell SPACE ENGINES, then suggest a free e-course on how to design a more powerful space engines. In this case you will be able to talk about almost everything related to space and engines, including your products.
Email marketing is very much something that is working for a ton of people right now. I bought something last week from an email offer, in fact I'm much more likely to buy something from an email than from a site I happen to stumble upon. You build a relationship with the people you get regular emails from, they prove their value by providing quality content on a consistent basis and therefore when they do promote a paid product you'remuch more likely to trust them and buy. One trick to getting past spam filters is to just tease in your email and link out to the actual offer on your website. YES, it is worthwhile building a list
I do not look at email commercial messages.I do not opt for them as I think of them as junk. But I always look at email marketing messages that has something of interest to me.Recently, I have been receiving one that shows the latest trends in SEO and what webmasters are not doing right.Though I did not opt in for this ezine, I find it helpful and have moved it from bulk mail folder to my inbox. So email marketing will be effective if the messages are targeted and offer some value to the reader. Aside the product or service on offer, some information, article or a tip will make people read.
Spam e-mail marketing is not worth the trouble. Collecting e-mails of your visitors so that you can build a list of potential customers/clients is very worthwhile, and definitely recommended.
"The money is in the list" it still true. It has lost effectivity, but email marketing is still the most rewarding marketing strategy.
