What to offer in exchange for high PR links

I hate the idea of buying text links (although I have, and will probably continue). But, is there anything that I can offer to high PR sites that will benefit them proportionately to my benefit from the link?

Anyone have any imaginative things to offer in exchange for text links instead of currency?

You could do write-ups and submit to them, letting them know that all you require is a link back to your website.

I'll give you a months link on PR6 if you can send me 50 new members :)

(actually i love my site so i'm really pedantic about what i link to)

Is a write-up worth a link from a PR5, PR6 or PR7 page? I suppose it depends on the type of website, and whether it's related to my industry.

Tell them that your website will be at least pr4 in the next update...

I can come up with a lot of things using my imagination. Here's a couple options that havn't been given yet.

    1) Do you have several sites you could link to theirs from? If you do that might work.

    2) Offer a service for them in exchange for a link back.

I don't want to do reciprocal links, however. They're get more and more useless as time goes by.

#2 is a pretty good idea, and not one I'd thought of.

#1 is an okay idea because I run 50+ websites, but I hate to have weird text links on all those websites.

This is bad advice and if I gave out red reps I would give you one for that post. Most high pr sites could care less what your next pr is going to be, if you can provide them with something that would be of value then you may have a chance. How about writing a very unique article about their website and then giving that article to them to place on their website, in exchange you ask that they just give you credit for writing the article. (a link back to your site)

May not be the best idea but is worth a shot.
