I cannot believe this I have just received another Infraction for this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=3164852#post3164852

Could anyone tell me why this Thread Started In Wrong Category? Because me asking a question about link development for search engine optimisation in the link developing section does not seem ‘wrong’ to me!

No no people are misreading the thread, I misunderstood the purpose of adsense, later on in the thread I acknowledge my mistake, do people not read past the first post on here?

    People probably misinterpreted this:

BTW- please use the edit feature instead of creating a new (double) post. Thanks.

    An infraction is a warning.

Well maybe it should be more clear then.

Maybe have something about that included in the message. ie, "You have received a warning at Digital Point Forums" :p

Maybe instead of "infraction" we should call it a hug. Sounds nicer right?

After 10 hugs we're all tired out and we'll give you a dozen roses (dozen roses = ban).

Yes Crazy as I said later in the thread:

Which reinforces what I said about people reading the rest of the thread, I wasnt aware of the principles behind adsense, but now I do. Btw sorry for the multiple post I'm still getting to grips with the forums posting rules.

Wow! I had never heard of infractions until a couple of days ago, and now I have four!

I got one for making a post reducing the BIN on something I was selling in Link Sales... thought that was a little harsh :(

IMO reducing the bin, more times than not, is just a bump.

ps - There are at least two other posts of yours in that that thread that are bumps that you didn't receive infractions for.

mmm I would admit to one, but probably not the second

Still, even if we say my BIN reduction was not legitimate, there should be a way for a seller to reduce the price without bumping his thread shouldn't there?

which is why you should think carefully before setting the rice. too many people use this as a way to bump their thread, it's hard to tell apart genuine price reductions.

Agreed. The starter of a BST thread should do a little bit of research first on what the going prices are for what they offer in order to avoid having to lower it again ... and again ... and again.

Well I also agree with you that seller should research first and than put the price or not offer BIN first. You can offer BIN after some hours because you can edit your post.:)

Maybe we all need to relax just a wee bit. Have some extra posts in a B/S/T thread isn't exactly the end of the world. :)

I had 0 infractions the other day and now I have 5 lol.

I got one for posting in this thread about some spinless ass monkey that log's in to simply give me red rep and then logs out again.

    My question is this.

Whitout the ability to KNOW for a fact who gave you the red rep (Even though i'm 99% sure of the culprit) can one not post their comments regarding said rep in the thread where they recieved the rep without it being considered thread hijacking?

Don't worry mods I already know the answer. I just hate the fact that the user names dont get attached to the rep automatically :p
