wel the titile says it all.. im in the planning stage of a new website, and was wandering, what i could expect with a £1000 marketing budget per month. How many uniques? Whats the best way to use this money? With which companies? i know its hard to say without knowing the niche, but i cant give that away. thanks
Thats a lot of money to spend on advertising. Depending on what kind of site it is, you may want to try ppc advertising; of course, you should also buy some strong backlinks to the site.
i know its loads..! but this site is going to be big.... so thats what it called for!! ppc imo is really expensive... say if its £0.10 a click, for a thousand pounds, that is only 10,000 clicks, which to me is not worth it. considering say only 30% will stay on, 3000 odd uniques a month for a grand just isnt what i could pay. i think buying a few links from high traffic sites would be a good suggestion, related to the niche. would text link ads and adbrite probably be my cheapest option?
possibly...also try contacting high traffic websites in your niche privately, and I'm sure you'll get a good advertising deal with banners and/or text links.. ReviewMe reviews are also a possible option for high profile blogs

blue DRagon thanks for your input but i dont want to spam, or introduce my upcoming business to spam. thanks
Buy some strong bank links and banners on sites of the same niche, with that ammount of money you could get some good traffic :|
Yeah, specially from bank of america ... What will your web site be (not niche) informative web site (i.e. news, articles, gossips) hope NOT, or a services web site? (wouldn't play just like that with $2000 if i can't offer services that would repay me three times those invested money). Just to answer you, you could expect alot, with $2000 you have open doors to many advertising campaigns and options. If you care just about gaining traffic, you can get the traffic from anywhere with that money, if you care about traffic conversation (into customer) then i would point straight to tight content/services related advertisement campaigns.
i care about the latter... traffic conversion, but in bulk. my site will be a combination.. informative service website!
Can you tell us what market your trying to attract? A £1000 budget on old peoples homes in london is a lot but it would not last a day on some finance programs
its going to start off with one particular niche, then spread to other niches on the same site after a month or two. its a B2C site... not selling anything, but providing a service for free to the consumer, but at a cost to businesses. does the above help? you can ask specific qs and il answer as wel as i can if u want?
