Sorry to bother all the experts (A few questions/clarifications)

This is what I understand, a simple yes you basically got it or no you are wrong will be greatly appreciated.

1) A backlink is basically ANY sort of link to your site from another site.
2) Articles should be submitted to article directories like digg.com to increase backlinks
3) Your site information should be submitted to site directories to increase backlinks

1 - Yes...more or less
2 - Yes, but Digg.com isn't so much an article directory. www.EzineArticles.com or www.GoArticles.com or www.ArticleDashboard.com are article directories. Digg.com is more a news website
3 - Yes

 

You can also submit your articles to sites such as GoArticles.com and PRWeb.com (for press releases). Many industries (such as Web hosting) also have their own news/articles sites that you can submit to.

 

just go a search in google for "submit article" and you will find thousands of article directories

for the first point backlinks:

It is not only about getting a backlink. Try to get a one way link and use the keyword you want to target in your anchor text.

I am not sure what you mean by one way link. Am I suppose to link to someone else's page?

 

He means that another website linking to you shouldn't have a link back to them from your site. SE's give less credence to reciprocal links than to one-way links.

FYI, a one-way link from a related website has the most benefit, especially if it has high PR.

Ok I get it like a crummy site would link to content from a nice site but the nice site wouldn't bother linking.

 

what you've mentions are ways to increase traffics:

1. Oneway link is more advisable
2. yes but try to search for another article directories
