make a webmaster forum, we can all make it popular in one day, the bandwidth will be a problem later on, but then atleast we can get a start!
Estimated, how much $ numbers/monthly are we speaking here with adsense on a website with 20million page views?
~20 million adsense impressions @ conservative 0.7%CTR @ average $0.55eCPM + ~1.5million queries you would expect such a site to generate @3.00% ctr and $4.5 eCPM + few hundred in referals = $18,000 to $22,000 a month
That is about right, i was thinking $17,000 to $25,000 nice numbers none the less. Although it could vary greatly depending on niche, ad placement etc. Thats why with minds from this forum i believe with the right resources we could pull it off.
Well, thats a good earning for a team not bigger then 20 people..(have not calculated the investments)
of course, as i said a conservative estimate with 20million impressions there are other ways that can be used alongside adsense to monetize the traffic
I have a blank dedicated server we could use. I also have a teen rating site with about 30k email addresses if we were to make a teen site. Anyways if this ever happens I'm in on it. If we get 20 people to help and we can pull of 20k a month that's 1k per person. Not amazing but still that's an extra 1k in our pockets.
how about promoting the site as a type of Billboard site. Each participant gets 1 page for themselves to put what they want. they put their own adsense code on their page. the main page can link to each members page. Kind of like a directory, but a directory of pages, rather than just website listings. the homepage can rotate banners equally to each of the pages. then the entire community can collectively use all of their other sites to drive traffic to this community site. just my ramblings.
Every little bit of help, idea, tool, criticism, compliment is a complete push in the right direction and im loving the support with this idea, we the people at DP can make a difference!
I would love to be apart of this, at least try it out and see what happens! Who's choosing who gets involved etc? Also how would we "spread" the work load?
what is needed to qualify as a premium publisher? I have a 2 year old site with about 1 million page views a month, under alexa 5000, (touch wood) but have never used adsense on it, would it be enough to make me premium if i started using adsense on it?
Think everything is still in the planing stages at the moment. As for the workload I think we should spread it out to who can offer what. If someone has no clue about design but is great at marketing or seo then they should be working with the other group members who also are good in that area.
http://www.problogger.net/archives/2005/01/22/how-adsense-premium-publishers-boost-their-ctr-by-500/ Mucho info there
I think with the knowledge most members have it can happen. Let us know what needs to be done and we can spread the work around.
One of the problems I can see with lots of people having their adsense codes on the site is that if anyone accidentally does something against TOS on the site, or someone outside the project thinks it's funny to ruin it by click bombing the site, all of those people risk being banned from Adsense altogether, for all of their sites. If an individual person just used their Adsense code on the site, they would face that risk anyway... is there anyway we can set one up that won't affect anyone? Like, maybe someone has a trustworthy relative, not at the same address, who has no interest in ever running a website so wouldn't be at risk in the future. Of course, there's the tax issue... A lot I guess that needs to be considered.
