So, I just started up. www.listikal.com/directory and I'm getting flooded from what appear to be quality site, but am suspicious due the mass amount coming in. None of submitted a reciprocal, so it looks as though they are spam. What are all of your determinations behind accepting quality links?
Just because you are getting a lot of submissions..need not mean they are all spam....maybe some directory submission service is submitting ..these usually have a big order book and submit all sites together. If they appear to be quality sites to you, then accept them. .
My criteria is sites that have at least a pr2. I think that anyone who is focused and trying to promote a site should have no problem getting a pr2. I get submissions to my directories that are pr3 or 4 that have scraped content that I will not include. I also consider sites that seem to have original content that is not scraped. I also take in sites that appear to be original. I think alot has to do with are you a gerneral directory or a niche?
BINGO! You know it's trash when the theme of the submission is targeted to a specific subject, but the site is dominated with 3rd party ads just for good measure. Also be sure to check below the surface, junk submitters are smart and know that some reviews only go to the home page. It's true what they say about what's inside that counts.
You're offering regular and reciprocal for free, so why should anybody bother submitting a reciprocal?
