Best Sitemap generator

There are many site map generators in the net. which one is the best? Do they produce map that is more 'friendly' to google which can translate to more traffic?

 

You may want to read my article about priority values in XML sitemaps since that is an area many tools ignore.

Anyways, you may want to try out multiple tools. Obviously I recommend my own, A1 Sitemap Generator. It has a free-to-try trial, but isn't free like some other tools. I am sure others here will mention and link to those, else check prior threads.

 

driving traffic is not related with sitemap.

my opinion about the best tool is gsitecrawler to create the sitemap.

you can also look the alternative tools depending on your cms

 

I use xml-sitemaps.com, to be honest, I can not tell if it is good or can be improved, for me it does the job

 

a-1 sitemap generator is good one.

Yes xml-sitemaps is a good online tool but it has 500 page limit. I am using the A1 Sitemap generator, best around in my opinion.

 

A1 Sitemap is hands down the best!

 

I will prefer GsiteCrawler because i m also using this for generating sitemap and its a great tool (desktop application) with a lot of options.

 

For me I think www.sitemapdoc.com and Net's best Site map are the best sitemap generators I've ever encountered try them yourself and you will see the difference...

 

Gsitecrawler is great and a personal favorite of mine but be warned, if you have a large site you may get a warning from you hosting company that you are using too much server resources.

i used it on an article directory with 40,000 pages and left it running for 16 hours straight, when the program finished i found that my site had been taken down for the above reason and had lots of groveling to do to get the site back up LOL

Hey thanks mate, I love this generator. I have been looking for a decent site map generator. Could I ask whether or not site maps help with search engine optimisation though not just design and quickness?

A1 Sitemap Generator isnt free :-s I use one and its a free software, look in my sig you will see what it does and the links in there to it

 

i have only used standalone version of Site Map Generatory but it does not work for me!

 

I am using xml-sitemaps for sites under 500 pages for the moment so it works fine for me. When I will reach 500 pages, well, I will see...

when you get over 500 pages i suggest just dl a script which you run on the web server and it creates the sitemap.

not sure where i got my one from but its in python i think

xml sitemaps assist google if youhave pages which are not crawled or have just made changes which you would like google to know about.

ie have added newe pages which you dont think will be crawled etc.

in terms of driving traffic you wont always get more but it certainly helps as it means all your pages are indexed.
