Since we are here..why the 2 messengers from MS?
I never understood them having 2.

There aren't 2 messengers by Microsoft.
First of all Microsoft started with Windows Messenger which went up to version 4.7.
Next came MSN Messenger and it made its way upto version 7.5.
Now exists Windows Live Messenger which is at 8.1 currently.(9.0 is expected with an year)

Its basically the same thing but when there were major changes made to it, they renamed it. Thats all.
