Hits are different and searches are different. The challenge is for 20,000 unique visitors in a month.

 

20,000 in a month that is not bad I thought it was for a day. Good luck guys. Just work hard on it and this number is achievable.

 

Theres' absolutely no chance I'll come anywhere close to this I'd imagine, for www.chicktech.net. I haven't done my press releases yet, so maybe they'll help (but it takes time, b/c I work through actual media outlets and not distribution sites for crap traffic and links). I am, however, launching that blogtalkradio show I mentioned. I found a co-host, and we're doing our introductory show this Friday. I'm spending most of my site time lining up guests at the moment.

I also have a "women webmaster" interview I'm going to be conducting with a pretty big name in the women webmaster arena (especially w/ Web writers and a lot of WAHMs) - Lisa Shea, the owner of BellaOnline.com, which is the second largest women's network, and the largest independent network on the Web. So that might help with traffic a little bit if I promote it well.

Other than that, most of the time is being spent getting the radio show set up, so I'm just hoping that pays off.

I am brand new to marketing in any shape or form so this is exactly what I need.

I have a site I do not use at the moment and I have a relevant subject I can promote hopefully so I am up for a challenge.

The site is not even constructed, isnt in any way SEO optimized so I will be realistic in my expectations and if something better becomes of it im more than happy.

I will start by uploading a blog script and getting the site layout, that should take a day at most, then I will move onto getting some basic content, then I will pick up some ideas to get the traffic flowing.

Once the site is live I will post it in my signature, but for now I will add a simple blog I created on a free blogsite.

Will do. We're still ironing out a few kinks in the plan. Unfortunately, I may not have a co-host after all b/c the scheduling issues (we're in different time zones, and she has children at home that the schedule has to work around) are making it difficult to get guests lined up, even with people I know well that would otherwise get involved. It either had to be really early in the morning (8am US eastern time, which is too early for most over in Pacific time) or afternoons, which seems to be a problem. We're going to chat in about an hour actually, and we'll figure it out at that point. If I have to go solo, I will, but it would certainly be nice to have someone to bounce things off of. Anyway, I'll post about it and such when we finalize things and get the first few guests confirmed. If nothing else, it'll be nice to get back into scripting and public speaking, so it'll be fun.

 

I'm sure others in this forum would love to help you out. Just post that you need guest for your radion show.

 

I have a lot of contacts I'd like to tap first (several are members here), to try to convince them to come on, b/c I know they're either respected in their areas or they have something interesting to say related to the show materials. And since we already have the first few show ideas laid out, I'll be looking for specific people to talk to... I'll probably look more out of my network and client base after I have a few shows up, so people know what they're getting into.

Some are just changed because I made my permalinks better for SEO and is paying off alot of my traffic is from search engines.

 

Thanks. Some updates on it:

1. I'm officially going solo on hosting due to scheduling conflicts, although I might have her (the originally planned co-host) come in for certain shows when she's able to help mix it up a bit.

2. The shows will be Wednesdays at 6pm US eastern time if you want to listen live and be able to call in.

3. The first show starts next Wednesday (a week from today), and will be an intro show about the scheduled programs, explaining how people can call in, etc.

4. The first "regular" show will be the following Wednesday (30th), and will be on promoting niche content sites (not all of the typical IM stuff you'll see on places like DP by a long shot), and I have a confirmed interview lined up for that show with a friend / colleague and owner of a niche content network who does an excellent job in promoting and monetizing the niche sites in ways a lot of internet marketers and webmasters never think of because they get so caught up in the stereotypical lists of marketing activities. It'll be a good one.

5. The show is called Chick Tech Talk, and is tied to my blog at www.ChickTech.net.

6. The official BlogTalkRadio page for the show (with the info on calling in and such) is at www.blogtalkradio.com/chicktech

7. By the end of this coming weekend I'll have a subdomain blog finished at http://talk.chicktech.net where I'll also house all of the archives, put together transcripts, promote my interviewees up to a week prior to their shows, where listeners later can comment, etc.
