Hi All, I have this one query regarding dupliaction of content. Kindly help me resolve the same. If we have an article, which is cached in my website, and I submit the same to various article submission websites with a link back to my own website so does this reflect content duplication in the eyes of google. Awaiting for your answers. Cheers, Alexis
No No, Alexis dont worry about that .If you submit the same article to various article submission websites with a link back to my own website it will not be considered as content duplication in the eyes of google. Content Duplication is totally a different concept
Giving away your articles through article submission will only be seen as duplicate content for those who republish it. Your site benefits from this since you're getting backlinks each time they're republished.
You said the article was cached in your website, so the answer is YES. Dont do this, create a different article to submit to directories and keep the one on your site unique.
If the article was indexed first in your site your site would not have supplemental result. The article that has been indexed in other site would get the supplemental result.
I agree. If you have the article first and an authority site then republishes it, they will always rank higher than your site......I've seen it happen before....just take a look at wikipedia...a lot of the stuff is just copied from other websites and it still outranks the other sites... I always try to distribute a different version of the article than the one thats on my site...its a long, hard and tedious process but I think its best...
"the first person who published the article first gets credit" is a myth i believed in for a long time. google knows when that page got indexed, so i assumed they used that infomation. I also thought they would do it that way to keep people from stealing other content. It is an interesting concept that you can simply go on the web and look for sites with crappy PR and put their content on your higher PR site and they're screwed.
Let me tell u that PR and Gaining Traffic is totally a different concept. Higher traffic does'nt neccessarily means Good PR for that site. Even low PR site can have higher traffic and Vice-versa.
You are saying that first publishers owns the copyright of the article? second ones are marked as duplicate?? only if it's published by you, too. right?
I was submitting my articles to the list of directories, and to my site, too. as new pages. Now all of my sites are banned from Google. I don't think this was the problem...but who know... Some webmasters are suggesting changing the articles within submissions... rewriting the same articles more time..like not submitting the same article to 150 article directories... submit a version to about 20 of them.. change the first paragraph another 20.. and so on... what do you say about this? have anyone from here used this method and sow improvements faster then a single version submission? thanks Dan
the easy way is just make article at your site as a longest and full details one. the one you put at other just a part or not full stories tehn make a link back to your article in your site. so you dont have to edit too many time and google will not consider as duplicate. what do you think?
I published around 20 articles (all duplicates indexed elsewhere) on one of my sites and all got indexed. As people have mentioned above authority/trust in the main factor here.
There is no real way for search engines to know where an article originated from and who is copying it. Unique content means you can get up on SERPS for unique keywords too. This is what I highly recommened. 1 - Write two articles on the same topic. Post one on your website and post the other on article directories with a backlink. 2 - If you do not want to write two different articles then first publish it on your website and then wait a couple of weeks at least before putting them up on social bookmarking website, article directories etc The first method is highly recommended though!
Duplicate means one page.. or you could be accused about duplicate content even if you have a single paragraph copied...? I get your way.. but what having the same article on 150 directories..? won't that be duplicate? I'm here to learn Thanks
whneevr you are posting the article, do not post the whole story on the article submission website. Do it in small paragraph and provide a link on the same to the main page where your full article is there...
Hey Guys, Reading all your suggestions have really confused me. Some of you say it is not duplicate content as I would have the authorization. Others say it would count to be duplicate no mater for authorization. Could you guys please help me and clarify on the same.....????
