I think you are forcing yourself to use 336.. HERE>

I apologise for the general comment that 336 is the best and should be used everywhere...

i) forums.. personally i dun think forum itself will get you much clicks.. unless you have very high traffic flow and very targetted cotents with targetted ads. CTR are generallly low. So i dun think i can help you with that..

ii) if you really want to, use 728 should be more natural for the template.

this is what i did to one of my forum which might be of interest to you.

I link my article pages with Title link, brief description on the forum pages.. with a randomizer, it will bring you different topics every time you refresh..

So my forum has not got much clicks, but the link which brings them to the article page which of cos in the 1st place must interest them, will send them reading an interesting article, with 336 ads on the top above the fold, blended into the contents. And that one worked quite well for me. Maybe you can consider doing that...

Other than that, I still think forum template are not easy to manipulate..

I think the template looks much better, the left column is nicely done i think..
not so sure about the middle column.. it looks abit odd. Maybe i like things rather symmetrical. I would probably set up tables and do rows and columns to make things looks more neater.

Saying that, i still think a 336 above the fold performs.. if you have the time and feels that you can do that and also create a user friendly environment, then update us on the results..

Becos i m a man, who eyes are naturally attracted to the pretty women, rather than the ads that is shown, to be honest, i din even notice the ads as i surf the site... heahehaeha... hey, at least you know that you did a good job with the pics... and I m a real man!! heahehaeh..

PS: Due to time constraint, i will do as much as i can for these reviews. And priorities goes to those who post in the forum... compared to those who pm me. So that it is more fairer for those who are willing to reveal their sites for others to learn more..

Hi Quest, I m not going to lie to you..
IT is difficult to increase your clicks when your site is about free downloads..

Your visitors simply searched, and got what they were looking for and they are downloading it.. Why would they want to leave your site when they found what they want? Next.. after someone downloaded something, sad to say, they would just close the window and install the software... i dun think they would click on ads (that interest that in the 1st place) you know...

I do recommend that you collect emails to build your list in exchange for the free downloads, if the softwares are yours..

That way, you will probably get more chance to monetise these traffic in other ways...

Potentially higher income, and rem, a list can always be recycled...

My opinions are just for you to filter.. no offence or take it to heart.

I love your site.. very rich in pictures... but not a lot of words.. I think a little bit more words will help with SEO for words search and at the same time image search. (part of image search algo i believe)

Take away the Amazon ads, and put proper books about fishing instead, I see paris hilton in the ads.. "Careless Love" too... nothign to do with fish. and if you got time, do book reviews.. simple ones, they will help sell more books.

As for adsense... stick to just text ads.. instead of having images ads too. There are limited targetted image ads for this niche. Hence less likely to get higher CTR.

Take away the 728 on the top and try to fit it where your amazon ads are.

Think of a way to set up a table and have 2 columns at the top where your 468 is now.. left column add a 336... right column put some 2-3 random pics vertically..

Maybe that will help.

My 2 pences. I love fishing.. but no time and no buddies... well in future maybe...

There is no need to beg for traffic, you are just offering another read to the thread readers..

I believe in one thing.. you do not need the majority of people to like what you do and are offering.. you just need a handful of these people who appreciate what you are doing... And what you are doing now, is indeed just finding the minority, this group of people who is going to like what you are offering..

As long as your contents are good and helpful... in the long run, you will reap what you sow...

Your new template looks nice. IF i could suggest, these are some minor adjustment.

i) the top post's 336 looks very unnatural.. maybe you can try using 300X250 or 250X250 instead... or increase the width of this entire column.
ii) if you can... always rem this rule.. 1 ad block above the fold... another at the bottom when reader finish reading your article. try to do that and earnings will tends to increase.

Your case is a classic example i think, a textbook example!! I am going to bold this entire thread, not meant to be rude, but becos i think this post is important and will benefit a lot of people. So forgive me for the bold.

If you look at the ads that are show on your site.. they displays services that you are already providing. Free uploads. So why would they be interested and click on the ads when they already found what they want?

You should think of something, that will either complement your existing services, or provide something that your current clientele would be interested in. For instance, for a change, why not use Google Pack referral or Pisca Photo upload for a change and see how it goes.. I dunno hows your clientele like, but will they be interested in Firefox?

Next, outside Adsense, since your clientele seems to like the idea of "free" stuff.. why not find offers on CJ and display the offers on your page, in a neat way of cos...

This is the way i see it, since at this moment you are making under a dollar a day for this site, you might as well try something which is higher paying for the opportunity cost of 50 cents...

Definitely highly recommend you to venture out of Adsense. But you can also try selling the Google pack and Pisca referrals.
