I have seen some sites which allow users to have auto submission using their software. But is it as effective as manual submission ?

Then what is the difference ?

From what I hear, manual submission to anything is almost always better, but automated submission is something. Although alot of the times it is just a scam.

I think? Correct me if I'm wrong, lol.

But why u say that auto submission is scam !
We use computers for making our works more easy. And so according to that auto submission makes our work more easy !

But Auto submission can't be done in scripts with captcha !

I planned to keep my NOW PR6 directory as a free directory for only quality sites. But due to automated submissions I have turned it to Paid directory and now it will remain that for as long as Internet Remains.
I despise automated submission. I have another directory ready to put online--but I would rather populate it myself than open for the public:mad: due to that AUTOMATED SUBMISSION.

Sounds like a big lost to us. Will you consider allowing us to register our site with your PR6 directory?

I agree with the rest, manual is the only way to go. It takes time but is much more effective. Using automatic gets just what jhnrang did a closed directory. Besides the fact that you end up with rejections due to wrong categories and such. If you want good results do the work yourself.

I don't understand what you mean--it is PR6 now and only after 36 hrs it went paid due to SPAM submissions.

You can always pay and submit your site for review. If it meets our quality guidelines your site will be accepted --and if it does not --you wil get full refund.
Being a general directory inspired (modeled) by Yahoo Directory --it has almost all the categories.

Best Internet resource Please Check it

Auto Submissions submit you to mostly FFA sites and Link Farms which arent taken care of very well. Auto Submissions will mostly result in spammy links as far as i know. Manual submissions are good for your site as long as you feed in the right details and get going with the right vendor ;)

For me, semi-automated, with AllSubmitter is the best...
Quality as hands (IE), speed almost as at automatic

Good soft can, for example AllSubmitter

For me I used Manual submission with informenter because you can check and submit the detail information of your link rather than automatic submission. Automatic submission is spamming..

informenter - it is simple semi-automated soft, why manual submission?
    roboform,informenter great tools but,
In time 20-50 less special soft, they are not intended for submission,
Only for filling forms, also there are no functions for working with databases, reports.......

There are no even 80% of necessary functions.

Can Inform or Roboform store mail reports?
Can Inform or Roboform store orders, contacts?
PageRank, Links, Google, MSN, Yahoo.... To sort, filter, group directories?

    One click submission can do?

How much you spend time on submission? :)
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    Plan A - 100 Submissions for $8 (24 hours) - max 20-1 hour
    Plan B - 300 Submissions for $24 (48 hours)
    Plan C - 500 Submissions for $38 (72 hours)
    Plan D - 1000 Submissions for $75 (96 hours) - max 8-10 hours.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
Max - it is works brain + hands + good soft.

I do not believe, that by means of roboform or Inform ;)

Though if there is a lot of time and patiences........

Manual submissions are better as you manually would select the best category.

Auto submissions, can't come close to being as effective as manual submissions IMHO.

The software in my signature, Website Submitter is selecting the category for you. Yes indeed most of the submitter software does not allow this option but Website Submitter lets you do this.

At semi-automated also would select the best category. The person!, soft can prompt only the most probable variant. (only help)
And very much often the opinion of the program and the person coincides :)
    Huge economy of time.

Auto submission is useless. Its a pain in the a** for all free directory owners who want to keep the site free and at the same time want to add quality sites only.

When they see 100+ useless submissions in a day which is the result of such tools, they just turn into paid. You lose one free directory resource by using such tools.

You can use some FireFox extension to help fill the form. (I use RoboForm) but thats the only way to go. Submitting site using any automated software is just out of the equation.
