lol, I thought 8 started this thread, my bad, bender got me all messed up.

check your phone line and add a dsl filter if you are close enough to the telco to connect, then the only reason you should disconnect is crappy phone line. just pickup a phone and hit a number so you get pure silence, if you here static, thats a real problem, but call the company and bitch anyways, they will over volt your line and clean it right up (don't tell them that though because it is illegal for them to do, but they all do it)

Make sure you have dsl filters on all jacks in the house too.

:D go down in the basement, open the phone box, and yank all the lines out of there except yours, that will ensure there is no cross connection to your neighbors :D

    Now that's an idea.
It would take them a while to figure it out. But just to be safe, I'll keep a few in. It shouldnt be too hard to break in. Thanks =)

I was just onsite at a clients today because he was complaining his dialup was slow, and he said his line was fine. I went down in the basement and the line was corroded to hell, I pulled them out and punched them back down and he connected right away and he said it was so fast now(which it was dialup, and I thought I was going to die before it loaded the google page)

Not a problem with the apartment. It's a problem from the service provider. I live in an aprtment, got no problem at all.

well, it can be a problem anywhere from the phone to the telco, usually has nothing to do with the actual DSL provider, since they just lease lines from a main provider anyways.
